Repeating past feedback, for those that can't watch hours of content, create snackable 3 minutes highlights ala Klatt. As far as getting on the record answers from coaches, I'm not sure if Sark or Bianco have a penalty box for questioning specific hot topics, but I have a few suggestions when you get availability: Sark or Flood - looking at advanced metrics like FEI, the offense has been ranked outside of the top 15 for the past 3 seasons. Early down success, 3rd down conversions, and red area have been challenges. While Texas has had championship caliber defenses, usually holding teams to our 20 pt target, the offense hasn't been as consistent. Do you agree, and how have staff and roster changes been prioritized to improve? (Bonus: "even though fans are excited to have Will back, many are asking if Saban or Carrol would have changed OC after last year instead of DC?") Hero Kanu - how does Texas S&C compare to Ohio State? What's similar, what's different, what's better at Texas? Banks - how do you measure championship caliber special teams, and what do you want to see improve this year? -

My nephew graduates this year and is headed to UTEP. I just got off the phone with him and he told me that his QB from last year's Silsbee team in a QB battle with TJ Finely at Incarnate Word 😂 huh whaaaaat. TJ and I gotta be about the same age. -

What’s your point? What do you think you’re illuminating with your massive dump? Of course others have used it and found short term success. If you’re not part of cig’s coronation, then I’m not sure why you’re quoting my post? If you are, then that’s why you have massive amounts to dump. You’re full of it (I laughed) to crown anyone after a short run of success. It’s a great story and season on its own and one that doesn’t need idolizing. That’s all. Carry on. Or, dm sweet cig nothing’s to asspan so he’ll stop reaching out to me.

This OL portal cycle feels more like a failure of execution, whereas last year’s OL portal failure was due to poor room evaluation / talent planning. I think the Texas staff had their eyes on a handful of P4 starter-caliber OGs going into this portal window, but miscalculated on those OGs actually entering the portal (current team retention efforts likely won out). Given the number of OGs that actually DID enter the portal which Texas seemingly passed on (Lockett, WKU Guard, etc), it would suggest Texas was confident their primary targets would be there, but alas…nope. I guess there is technically still some Bray Lynch hope, but he’s a replacement-level OG relative to Cole Hutson so we are not upgrading LG this cycle. So, we now appear to be in a situation where we are sorting through the secondary OGs currently available in the portal. My guess is our current situation is forcing the evaluation staff to look at A LOT more Guards than expected to find a decent 1-2 guys to recruit and sign. My assumption is once all our primary targets were not available, we had exhausted our Big Board at IOL, so now we have to evaluate to reset the available Board. A disappointing outcome, but not the end of the world. Their may be a replacement-level P4 OG in the portal, and that would effectively be a 1-for-1 swap with the level of play we got from Cole Hutson (and a big improvement over what we got from the other LGs in the first half of the season). Baker appears set to move inside to RG, which may provide better pass blocking than DJ Campbell, but not likely as good run blocking as DJ. Net-net: we aren’t improving the IOL play at all this offseason, and we lost some young depth pieces along the way (Kibble, Cruz). We better hope Jackson Christian and Sikorsky are ready to be in the Top 8 OL this season…or we are up a creek.

He definitely missed some close ones but that’s Matas issue going forward. He’s not athletic and players with height and athleticism will give him trouble going forward. However he did get dominated by a player five inches shorter than him last game, so maybe all defenders bother him. -

The Kentucky guy had a couple blocks on him but there were a number of times he had the guy pinned down or had the jump hook and just missed some easy shots. You have convert on those or draw a foul when you have the position which he did neither. -

AUSTIN, Texas – The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) named Eddie Reese the recipient of its Lifetime Achievement Award on Tuesday afternoon, one of the organization's most prestigious distinctions. Selected by the CSCAA Executive Board, Reese was honored for a career that reshaped collegiate swimming and diving and produced an enduring legacy before his retirement in 2024. Reese, a Florida native and former standout swimmer at the University of Florida, devoted his career to the sport of swimming as both a student-athlete and coach. Hired by Texas in 1978 by Darrell K Royal, Reese went on to build one of the most successful and respected programs in collegiate swimming and diving history. Under Reese's leadership, Texas captured 15 NCAA Division I men's swimming and diving national championships and more than 40 conference titles. He claimed his first NCAA Championship in 1981 and became the only swimming coach to win NCAA team titles in five separate decades (1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s). His 15 National Championships are tied for the seventh-most by any coach, in any sport, in NCAA history. Reese's Longhorns also won 75 NCAA individual titles and 55 relay crowns through the completion of the 2022-23 season. Skip Ad An eight-time NCAA Coach of the Year, four-time College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Coach of the Year and four-time American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Coach of the Year, Reese coached hundreds of All-Americans and mentored more than 40 Olympians who combined to earn over 50 Olympic medals, including multiple gold medals. The program's outdoor pool facility, located adjacent to the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, opened in August 2020 and was named in his honor. Prior to arriving in Austin, Reese completed a six-year rebuilding effort at Auburn from 1972 to 1978, leading the Tigers to four-consecutive Top-10 finishes, including a second-place showing in 1978. A 1963 graduate of Florida, Reese helped lead the Gators to three SEC titles (1961, 1962 and 1963) and became the first swimmer in program history to win five SEC titles in a career. He remained at Florida as a graduate assistant coach while earning his master's degree before serving as a high school teacher and coach at Roswell High School in New Mexico from 1965 -66 and later returning to Florida as an assistant coach from 1967-72. The CSCAA Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes individuals whose careers reflect sustained excellence, leadership, and a profound commitment to advancing collegiate swimming and diving. Reese's body of work as a coach, mentor, and steward of the sport embodies those values in every respect. Reese will be formally recognized on May 4 in Chicago as part of the CSCAA Awards Celebration, where the association will honor a distinguished class of individuals whose contributions have shaped the past, present, and future of collegiate swimming and diving.

Give me a colonoscopy over watching basketball it’s to soft. I haven’t watch since Tim Duncan retired and hated watching then. It’s all about being soft and flopping I’m good lol

I have no complaints. Everybody does a great job. Every now and then we get into but it’s all in fun. On a few other sites and this is the best place to come for news. You guys get it faster than anyone. OTF knew about Goosby’s shoulder. Two other sites had it as breaking news. Some of those guys thought he was having reconstructive shoulder surgery. In fact I am offering to take @Jeff Howe @Bobby Burton @CJ Vogel and @Gerry Hamilton and @Joe Zura to a men’s basketball game. Who’s with me!!! You guys probably prefer a colonoscopy over that though.

How Sark completely fumbled the ball on the OL again is beyond me. What is worse is that he showed the door to half the OL. We have all the skilled talent in the world, but without a functional OL it is meaningless.

The YouTube channel is A+. Jeff and CJ together provide good insights and discussion. Bobby, Gerry and Rod together are always my favorite and fantastic. I love the guests you have had on the show, whether players coaches or others. Love the diversity on the channel. Appreciate Gerry’s BBall input and traveling recruiting updates. Having former player’s perspective is a huge plus, especially Rod and others at times like Brian. The site strengths are the balance you bring and Bobby’s morning posts, as well as insightful articles by others in the staff like CJ. Jeff Howe is a helluva writer, always a good read and strong commentator . Coverage of other sports is also a plus and adequately done. Like the baseball updates. Keep shining guys.
