  2. Quick Note on Defensive Backs *** A couple of quick hitters on the defensive back room. *** – First, when the team returns from spring break, I expect to hear Zelus Hicks is very close to returning as a full participant for the Horns. Hicks had been sidelined with a foot injury during winter conditioning, but is close to getting out on the field for the first time this spring. Hicks had previously been on the field for pre-practice warmups, but would then head for work with the training/conditioning staff off to the side. – From Friday's practice, I was told Wardell Mack came away with an interception from 7v7 period. Mack continues to get work in the nickel spot, mostly with the second unit with Filsaime's absence. – The first unit remains unchanged for the most part. Littleton and Mascoe are both getting time in the slot. Phillips on the outside with Mascoe and Littleton swapping in on the opposite side and Black receiving snaps with the first team as well. I will add this on Kade Phillips, from what I have gathered the expectations are super high for year two in a starting role. *** I will add that I am quite intrigued by Warren Roberson. I think his skillset bodes well for the press man coverage that is expected to be more prevalent in the defense this fall. Roberson ended up playing 187 in 2026 with 53 coming in the bowl game against Michigan. Speaking of that game, Roberson finished as the 2nd highest graded Longhorn in coverage (84.7) with just one reception on four targets for 3 yards.
  3. How would what he would earn as a late first-rounder compare to his likely NIL package?

  5. That's the best approach, Coach. The guy is a adolescent amoeba.
  6. No idea nor do I care to know who this insignificant guy is.

  8. Good summary. Pack has been an incredible surprise. Larson proved himself at LSU and is a good player- and despite his base running that Schloss did not like (nor did I) he is not the only one with those issues. I think benching a guy can work a lot of the time and hope it works now. Duplantier's hitting has been a surprise. It is the first time he has really shown that he could be a good hitter. I am glad for him and hope he keeps it up. He is one of my wife's favorites on the team. Monsour is a speedy guy and it seems Coach Schloss has a lot of hope for him. Let's see if they can get that bat going. Hook'em.
  9. Yeah his name is PaulieD 👀
  10. he has a girlfriend?🫣
  11. Wanted to make a note that longtime media figure and former Cowboys scout Bryan Broadus lost his mom yesterday. She was a huge Longhorn fan and Broadus' son attends the university. He always puts a good word out to his father and anyone else in the business about the kids on the 40. I'm posting his Tweet here and I would hope we could at least show a LadyHorn some respect and love. We only get one... hug everyone... love everyone.. enjoy every moment. 🤘🏿

  12. Great article! Could we get a similar one for worrisome depth?
  13. These guys have been playing more than Jonah not sure anything much will change with his missing out.
  14. Derrick Cooper and Jermaine Bishop is what Sark is looking for when he says All Gas, No Brakes. 🔥🔥🔥 The future is bright with those two!
  15. Thanks Jeff. Also want to shout out Presley Courville!! Since Jonah's would-be OF spot has to be filled, that has moved Larson/Duplantier out of the DH role into the field... meaning we need guys to step up at DH as a consequence. Livingston has showed recent signs of life at DH, but ideally Jim could platoon him so he doesn't face a full game of left on left. Courville has one hell of a sweet RH swing, and Jim seems to love him. Really unfortunate that he hurt his shoulder, but the fact that he did so while working on learning the outfield shows you the staff wants to find a way for him to contribute this season. He can likely be more offensive than fellow right-handers Ermis or Monsour. And he is supposed to be back soon! So when we're facing a lefty starter, he might be that RH side of the DH platoon (with Livingston as the LHer).
  16. Guy's entire schtick is trolling for clicks. don't feed him...
  17. @Joe ZuraJoe, that actually explains a lot👀
  18. Obviously needs to up his med dose.
  19. Monsour is really intriguing. I don't think the cameras caught it, but Schloss wasn't happy with Larson for failing to get a big enough lead from second base to advance on a ground ball Ethan Mendoza hit back up the middle of the diamond. Schloss yanked Larson after he was doubled off to end the inning, and Monsour took advantage of his opportunity.
