It's such a crap shoot this year ... I could see Kansas being better than Texas with the additions of Council and TKR. St. John's could easily be better than Texas Sunday. Texas is younger with freshman on that stage for the first time vs some guys with pro experience. This season is a total guess by everybody this year with the 5th year guys and overseas pros being eligible ... other than Duke

yes, we need more emotion from the coaches and players, and no, it won't help Arch one darn bit. He just can't operate Sark's elaborate offenses. Hell I'm not sure anyone can, especially without a Saban/Alabama type OL.

Looking forward to another exciting season of women's college softball! It feels like the sport keeps getting more competitive every year, with talented players coming through and programs building stronger rosters. I'm especially interested to see how the transfer portal affects teams heading into 2027 and which younger players step up. Conference matchups should be fun to follow, and I'm sure we'll see a few surprises along the way. Hopefully, this thread stays active with updates, predictions, and plenty of discussion throughout the season. Anyone have early favorites for the Women's College World Series or teams they think could surprise everyone?

Kansas isn't supposed to be that good this year and I don't see TKR taking them from barely a top 25 team to a top 10 team.

With the unfortunate timing of Wesley being out maybe J.Terry gets more snaps? Assuming he's good to go. Would love to see him get more snaps.

My guess is you see Vasek, Spence and Orogbo get some more play. Jackson and Umeozulu to most likely start. But guys will need to step up.

I was not expecting Wesley to be out....also Ole miss injury list is crazy.

Not really. There's plenty of blowouts every week. Before our game with Florida they got blown out twice and before that blew Ole Miss out. I think it's more of a placebo effect.
