Arch is still not performing up to standards. Sure his standards are extremely high, but he isn’t even playing up to 20 percent of that right now. The only glimpse we’ve seen of his true potential was flashes in the 4th quarter against OSU, and the second quarter against SJSU. It seems like the pressure gets to him before every game and every series when the offense isn’t rolling. This is a big problem. The solution in my opinion is make him throw that ball 50 times next week. Make him be uncomfortable. Make him be so uncomfortable it’s not uncomfortable anymore. He has to get used to the fact that he isn’t going to be perfect and just play his game, because when he does, he’s a hell of a quarterback. Sure there’s a lot of other problems with the offense right now, but when your main contributor isn’t doing anything to help those problems you got to fix the biggest problem first. The line will mesh as the season goes on. The running backs will be fine especially with Wisner and God willing Baxter back healthy. The younger guys showed flashes today of what they can do especially Simon. Now the receivers just need that game with Arch to get in their groove. Once this gets figured out hopefully the execution and mental errors drift away. Hook’ Em!

I’m not certain we can win any conference games unless the offense shows dramatic improvements. Miss St has been playing really well so far and we play them on the road—we could easily lose that one. Vandy went to Columbia and beat the brakes off South Carolina. That looks like a loss today. -
Give me a Haynes King with this defense 12/10 times

Oklahoma is ranked way too high

“Pro Style” is a thing of the past. The top QBs in the NFL can all run. I’d wager Arch can beat you with his legs so he fits the mold of a modern NFL QB. But yeah, recruiting QBs who can’t run is a huge mistake, Caldwell and Owen’s fit into that “Pro Style” mold and Sark still believes he can win with players like that or he wouldn’t have recruited them IMO. I don’t believe that to be true though.

I hate myself because I agree with you. But yet the mods will be like blah blah god help me I agree with you

Time to recruit COLLEGE quarterbacks and surround him with NFL talent instead of recruiting “pro style” quarterbacks it’s not sarks cup of tea but it should be out of necessity … Tebow won 2 national titles (with the help of Chris leak - which further proves the point)

I think they win every game the rest of the way. My two biggest worries are Oklahoma and Georgia but Texas defense finds a way. I think mateer will get beaten down against Texas and as much as im disgusted in texas I think many of their opponents have major questions as well. Fortunately I can count on the defense to not only stop teams but set the offense up in solid down and distance. -
That’s not youth, that’s not bad luck, that’s a program that isn’t being held accountable and a coaching staff failing to instill discipline. At this level, fundamentals and mental errors are on the coaches, and right now, that’s where the real problem lies.

Look, maybe Arch will be fine, maybe not. But with the product he is putting on the field, I don't blame people for worrying.

More stationary quick stuff would be beneficial.

Arch throwing into the turf isn’t a lack of discipline; it’s a failure of coaching and development. A third-year QB with elite talent shouldn’t be making fundamental mistakes like that. At some point, it’s on Sark to teach, correct, and scheme around it, not shrug and call it a fluke.
