Doing some digging on how putrid the Texas running game has been this season and came across this statistic dating back to 2024. *** The last rush attempt by a Texas running back to reach 20 yards or more was Jerrick Gibson's 21-yard rush against Clemson in the 4th quarter of the 2024 College Football Playoff round one game. Texas has had 142 rush attempts by running backs since their last 20 yard rush. 20 yards is obviously a big play. So what about 15 yards? Well, in their last 142 rush attempts, the Texas Longhorns have ONE rush attempt eclipsing 15 yards on the ground. That was an 18-yard run by CJ Baxter against San Jose State.

I think we got shutout by OU that year, so we'll see ...

You really did. Most people were concerned about the OL going into the season. I think pretty much everyone at OTF expressed that in August. OL play has been inconsistent. They played pretty well against Ohio State. Tre Wisner was out for San Jose State. Tre Wisner and CJ Baxter were out for UTEP. We ran for 200+ yards against UTEP. The OL has actually played a bit better than I expected.

Okay so this equals VY’s 2004 season and we’re still on track for the same record. I kid.

I don’t know but I personally set too high of expectations for our OL it seems. I really wished/expected/hoped that we would be year in and out a top 10 to top 4 OL. Not individually as being drafted but as a cohesive effective unit.

As much as I might agree with you, a lot of the fan base doesn't take well to criticism of Flood. That and Sark has blind faith in Flood, he's been with him at 3 different stops now, I believe. Atlanta, Bama and now Texas. While he says the right things and came in sound great, I've been less than impressed with his product on the field for the past 5 years. For some reason our big humans can't get in and push teams around on the LOS, even lowly UTEP and SJSU.

Yes, CJ, please use your press conference question in week 4 of the season to ask Sark if he plans on firing his OL coach. I’m sure that will get a great response full of valuable information to share with the board.

Texas would not and could not take them mid-season. But we’ll have to see if any players enter that they could add during winter portal.

I’ve held on to the slightest amount of hope that sark has put all his chips into conference play. Ohio st looked like ass for half the season last year until they hit a gear that they wouldn’t let off of.

VY got benched at home in the 10th game of the season in 2003 and then got benched again in the bowl game.

This. I get the frustration but a lot of the complaints is on sark too. How soon we forget that we hardly had any OL draft picks for a freaking decade. Hell the current Georgia OL coach was a part of that futility.
