Bang! Add five more stars to the 2026 class for the Texas Longhorns! 2026 North Crowley OT John Turntine III has committed to Steve Sarkisian and Kyle Flood over Michigan, Stanford and Texas A&M. Turntine has been atop of the Longhorns' big board essentially from the start of the 2026 class. The Longhorns also hosted Turntine and his family on more visits than any other school in the recruitment. There are some questions about where Turntine may play at the next level, largely due to an unconventional frame at the moment, but the plan has been and will be to use Turntinee as a tackle. Speaking of Turntine's abilities, his punch and quickness laterally are tremendous. Problem is that the money and Tech’s overall talent on the OL is going to force the kid on the field far before he is ready which sacrifices his NFL future.

But the ones currently on the roster will likely enter the portal, those are the players Texas would likely go after this fall, not the HS recruits.

Ojo has signed a 3-year deal with Tech….Sark can’t flip him or others that have signed similar deals. This is exactly what I was alluding to. Times have changed where waiting until November is a sound strategy

All these other schools blowing their wad (money) now while Sark and Texas strategize. It's a long way until signing day and while they may not get all the players they want - it's fine, they will build a competitive roster that will compete for championships. As someone who sometimes gives money to the school when it is in our budget, I appreciate them spending it wisely and not frivolously tossing dollars out at will.

Sad that kids are being counseled to chase the short-term $ vs the long-term $, and being willing to chase the $ into a shithole environment vs a spectacular environment for their future development, both on and off the field. 40 year decision, not 4 year.

Tech

Very few people are blessed with 1st round LT frame like Ojo. But his entire recruitment and vibe feels off. Picking Tech would feel appropriate. Picking Texas would be a sign he wants to be more than “potential”.

Not even a couple of years imo, this fall teams will find out real fast. Can the boosters keep up?

I honestly think it’s better news if for some reason things go sideways between Bowman and USC before December. I know the mods have said he’s locked in but USC deals have fallen through in the past. If that happens again, Texas would be in the driver seat.
