It would be a surprise. Terry just moved from WR in the Spring and is currently listed as the 4th RB on the depth chart (or 5 if you count the Niblett boutique position). That said, Terry is getting a lot of mention for a 4th string back from Sark and on the SID photo releases. Terry might not be a challenge to the top three backs, but he could be carving out his own role. Terry was mentioned as catching several passes in the second team Pony Package (20 personnel). He is perfect for that role. At 230 pounds, he can block for the smaller backs and in pass protection. He can run inside as a counter when paired with Coleman/Brown. As a former WR, Terry has an advantage when matched against LBs in the pass game. Terry could also be the answer in short yardage and red zone situational football. He is 230 pounds. Cooper is the next biggest at 210 pounds and he is also unproven. Sark seems to go out of his way to mention that Terry had some “nice runs” every chance he gets. If Terry can burst into the scene like Niblett did last year, that would create huge problems for opposing defenses.

Tough one, Blake! I’d go with Foster, still holding a record and a part of some incredible teams in the era. Malcolm was also good, but I never felt like he lived up to potential coming out of high school.

I remember saying (not on here) that they should've gone hard after Hardy in the portal. I remember people telling me how stupid I was because we had Wisner, Baxter, Clark, etc. I just remember watching him at ULM when he was a Fr and they played us, he had some great runs even against us that year. All hindsight, obviously. But I hope they do a better job of that next year when breaking in either Lacey or Bell.

The former five-star running back finished his Texas career with 2,678 rushing yards, 24 rushing touchdowns and 11 100-yard games. Brown earned Second-Team All-Big 12 honors twice and was a Freshman All-American in 2011. Brandon Foster put together a huge senior season in 2007, earning Second-Team All-Big 12 honors. He finished his career with 106 tackles, four interceptions and 15 pass breakups, while his three defensive touchdowns in 2007 set a Texas single-season record. Wayne Clements handled the kicking duties for Texas from 1987-89, connecting on 46 career field goals and scoring 214 points. He also knocked through two field goals in Texas’ memorable 28-24 win over Oklahoma in 1989. And more recently, Jerrin Thompson wore No. 28 in the Texas secondary. Thompson finished with 170 tackles, five interceptions and 18 pass breakups, earning honorable mention All-Big 12 honors twice. 1. Arch definitely had the yips first half of the season. Which didn’t help. 2. The OL was atrocious especially for a season where breaking in a new QB starter it should have been built to lean more on the run game. (Many thought the RB room should have been completely rebuilt prior to the 2025 season.) 3. The kinda worrisome situation exists that four of the five starters from last season will once again be starting this season. How much they are able to play more disciplined, play more cohesively and play more athletically in Sark’s wide zone schemes will all fall on Sark and Flood. Show noticeable difference and you can also put some major kudos on those two coaches. We’ll know by week two.

They seemed to be determined to make Hutson work at center and seemed hellbent on not giving Robertson a shot at center even though he acquitted himself well there in the '23 RR game. I also believe they just looked Stroh and Brooks and thought "big humans" and that was it because I refuse to believe that they watched Stroh & Brooks play and honestly thought they were better options than Robertson. Hopefully they don't pull that with Seymore.

As someone mentioned in another thread, this was a regular occurrence early in Mack's tenure, but it was free. That was 25+ years ago and I know times have changed, but if you're worried about losing a game because there's video of your first two days of drills, your team has bigger issues. This is what's great about the Spring Game or whatever it is now - you provide access to a lot of fans that will never have that type of access to players or maybe ever even step into DKR. Hell, I'm in my 50s and I still think it's cool to have photo ops with Bevo. So, yeah, I wish we would take a more fan-forward approach to our Spring Game and our first two days of warm-ups in shorts.
