Texas State is taking on Rice in the Armed Forces Bowl right now. it looks like Texas State is going to keep its quarterback, Brad Jackson, out of the portal, which is good for the Bobcats.

1991 Bowl Memory: Lessons Learned
Roysterr replied to Purplehorn3's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Georgia scored on running play because our LB was tackled, I was there for both games. Only good thing about Miami game was that before the game Tom Landry walked right by me coming to the game. He was wearing a fedora hat and a camel hair duster. -
I actually edited my original comment because I didn't think the joke would land lol! I do agree with you on the OL issue. The selfish part of me wants to see us land all the great skill position players. But if you are Sark and want to seriously compete, I think ya gotta prioritize the big boys in the trenches.

For the 2 offensive rooms that have underperformed the most (OL and WR) this year, Sark hasn't hasn't reprimanded Flood or Jackson. This is the worst blocking WR room we've had in a while and the number of drops is up there with the most in the nation this year. The OL has been discussed ad nauseam. At least demote Flood from co-OC, but to do nothing makes me feel like guys like Flood and Banks are Sark's "buddies" and untouchable.

Matthew Golden was flat out good and Mitchell was clutch as it gets. WR was not the issue when we had those guys.

Best available IOL.

Solves many an issue.

Jake Majors wasnt strong enough in my opinion. Super intelligent though.

This is something Sark needs to change. It shouldn’t take long for receivers to pick up an offense as it’s one of the easiest offensive positions to transition. He needs to simplify the offense in terms of learning curve. Well also in terms of scheme as well but that is a conversation for another thread.

Dan Neil, Casey Studdard, and Jake Majors lol. Seriously though OL OL OL OL. I want to see us win the LOS on both sides of the ball next season and impose our will on people. I do like the DT 0 tech out of Arkansas and would love to have Baugh but it’s all moot if we can’t protect Arch and establish a physical run game.

Where do you people come from? F@#k!!
-
An Outland finalist left guard, and I have no idea who that is.
-
Baugh, game changing back both in the run and passing game edit, miss read the IN the portal In that case it’s Coleman
-
Sneaky good answer. Would be huge if Goosby leaves, but even if not Baker could kick in to guard and probably be better than most portal options there.

Heard, OL from Tennessee

Waiting on two of the top two lineman in the portal. Sorry I know you said one.
-
Can he block?
-
Matthew Golden and AD Mitchell. Mitchell took all season to learn to block on the perimeter (which let’s be honest, he never really did well by the end of the year) as for golden, he really didn’t become the go to guy until midway through the year. Both had success here don’t get me wrong and obviously were drafted high, but both also had the benefit of playing in either completely different conference or had a much easer SEC schedule than what 2026 will look like. How many times does the OTF crew bring up the importance of learning this scheme as a WR and learning to BLOCK on the perimeter?
