  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks be to God that Colt is improving and doing well.
  3. I can see one each off-season being possible without upsetting the apple cart. Relying solely on HS development requires a really high hit rate to maintain the level we want and I don't think that's likely.
  4. Tend to agree and I would apply it to his comments at WR and RB as well. I get that recruits don’t want to be recruited “over” but when you don’t have one upperclassman you can rely on then they need to understand you’re filling a gap that should have been there when they arrived. If we go back into next season with out adding a true difference maker at RB other than true sophomore Simon and true freshman Cooper that would be about the dumbest thing we could do. Don’t give me the “they are rare to find in the portal” thing either when Gerry himself says players are recruited to the portal these days. That’s the game. It’s all about prioritization and we need to prioritize an elite starter at RB for next season who has experience picking up blitzes, etc not just a confused true freshman who only knows a handful of packages. Georgia did it with Eitienne and beat us twice with him en route to an SEC ring. Bama did it with Gibbs before them. It has to be a priority. As does OL and at least one difference maker at WR if second year Ffrench and Lockett aren’t trending to be that guy.
  5. Nope, these aren’t tears on my cheeks! I think an onion got loose in here. thank you for sharing with us and including us in something so incredibly personal and important to you guys. I feel like i speak for all of us on this board in saying how you have won our hearts with your simple and amazingly genuine charm. we are so happy for you and your family friend and truly honored to have shared in your journey. God bless you guys and I’m excited to see what God does with Colt in his future! I’m certain God has huge plans for Colt! Hook’em forever 🤘🏼🧡
  6. I've got a question for Gerry. I was listening to the State of the Program this afternoon and the discussion dealt with what Texas might need in the portal. My question is specific to the offensive line. Gerry has repeatedly said that there are no longer any excuses for being young and inexperienced. He's mainly said this regarding basketball, but I assume that this can also be applied to football. In today's discussion he took the stance that Texas should continue to build the offensive line through high school recruits because they take much longer to develop, but offer more stability to the program. This looks to be problematic for this year's team for whatever reason: early entries into the draft or poor evaluations with the current roster. Another dilemma that I see is how these offensive line recruits mesh with the NIL picture. If we recruit the "best" offensive line that we can sign, doesn't that come with a heavy price tag that may not see the field for 2-3 developmental years? How do the money guys justify that? Or would the money be better spent with an older player with a quicker return on the investment? My questions are out of curiosity and not a criticism. Gerry, I appreciate all of your thoughts. Just curious how the Texas staff works through these difficult decisions.
  7. If we're 10-2, I actually see us passing Ole Miss. At that point Ole Miss best wins would be an LSU team that fired their coach and an OU team we dominated meanwhile we'd have top 10 wins over #6 OU, #9 Vandy, #5 Georgia (who they lost to) and #3 A&M. We could be looking at the perfect scenario of avoiding the SEC championship game AND getting the 1st round bye.
  8. Hey Blake, you are a very strong man with class. I only wish you and your family the best. BTW you are not muted!
  9. Lott will be in the class
  10. Today
  11. It's honestly hard for me to care about 2028 recruits. That is entirely too much time and things will absolutely change.
  12. He’s to similar to Kosi Okpala. I don’t think so. It would surprise me if they did. They need a true off the ball LB to go with Atkinson.
  13. Thanks Blake.......you just made me cry right before bed. LOL From one father to another I want to tell you how touching that post was. God Bless you and your family. .........and Go Colt!
  14. i think calvin thomas LB ends up in this class
  15. Colt is definitely a fighter! Thanks for keeping us updated, I’m always so glad to hear that he’s doing well. Continued prayers for you and your family. I hope Tate is doing ok after his concussion, too. You’ve got some tough kiddos, Blake!
  16. Lott Martinez Anderson Carlton Senior eval at LB Senior eval at CB
  17. How do you all think the class will finish after the Berrymon opening it up? For me: Lott Martinez (he is OVing and seems likely) Carlton Anderson DB to be named I could also see a combo of Henderson / Guervill instead of Carlton / Anderson
  18. How much of the running game is on Chad Scott ? What would you grade him at?
  19. As a father myself, I'm just so happy for him and your family. We appreciate your work her Blake and we hope for fantastic future for Colt and the rest of your family. On s side note, I use to do radio for high school football games for 30 years. I did more than a few games at Comanche.
  20. Yep, and coach Vic has a pretty short rotation, if I remember correctly C he usually only plays about 9 on the regular rotation.
  21. Blake so glad for Colt, you, and the rest of your family. The force is strong with the Munroe family.
  22. I'd love to see us get more INT's, feels like our DB's don't make a lot of plays on the ball. One thing is, I'd love to see PK continue to send his guys after teams. Feels like he pulled back in that 4th quarter, when he should've been continuing to get after Pavia. There also seems to be some disconnect between Akina and PK, maybe I'm wrong on that. A lot of people don't seem to think Akina will be here next year anyway. Getting Taaffe and McDonald back will be huge, but they were there for Florida and Kentucky. Both games they gave up a ton of yards. They really need to get that fixed because these next 3 teams can put points up in bunch's. Anyway, good write up per usual, Jeff.
