There is a special breaking news video that Bobby, Gerry, and CJ posted a little while ago about the imminent return of Jonah Williams and it includes a discussion of the Wardell Mack situation.
-
He probably saw that his QB could not hit wide open receivers and decided he needed to scrap his game plan

Good candidate for a Bail-bondsman NIL deal? ............Too soon?

“Domination” is being used way too loosely

Gerry just dominated OP -
How is it that every team plays something different than they see on film? If that’s the case then why hasn’t he adjusted. It just seems like he doesn’t know how to coach against it and they it’s an excuse at this point. Especially if it happens as much as he says it does.

It was a conservative game plan IMO. The reason for it can be debated.

The talent that DeBoer has called into was absolutely elite and a top 3 roster in the sport. The situations that he walked into and others like Sark walked into are very different. You can’t go 5-5 in your last 10 and losses to more unranked teams in the last 12 months than the program had in the last 15 years with that roster. If he goes 8-4 this year Bama will fire him. -
Not necessarily alcohol related. Bad teammate at minimum. Middle of game week? Inexcusible.

We agree to disagree. I believe LSU dominated Clemson in the second half of the game because of the who and where the game was. In talent neutralized situations, being dominant is different for me. -
Rhodeslaw started following Sark conservative play calling
-
I believe Sark was intentionally conservative with his play-calling against Ohio State. He has mentioned that opposing defenses often play differently than what is seen on tape when they face Texas. It seems he is cautious about revealing his strategies too early, which allows opposing coaches to better prepare against Texas. I’m not implying that Sark didn't call plays with the intention to win; Texas had several opportunities to secure a victory but failed to capitalize on them.

What do you think we’d be saying about Sark if he had the ball with 3 minutes left, and instead of getting one first down he went 3 and out only gaining 3 yards, then had to rely on his defense to keep the team out of the endzone from the 15 yard line. I don’t think people around here would be overly pleased with that ending. LSU had 108 rushing yards. It wasn’t a dominant performance. And it’s not a slight by Dabo to say LSU didn’t play as good as they could of- that is actually a compliment to suggest the opposing team could have played better but still came away with the win. If Brian Kelly wasn’t a man child he could have understood that -

I just highly disagree. Do you think anyone on this site, with how highly invested and critical as we are, would be saying that we dominated a team in the second half of the team had the opportunity to tie the game from the 15 yard line win a minute left? I know I would not feel that way- I would feel that we got a good win and were lucky to get out of there. Also disagree with the “missed call”- ball was moving and got pinned. Again, “dominance” would be receivers streaking wide open and having no doubter TDs (again, see 2023 Bama game). -

And in no way did I watch that game and thought LSU played a sloppy game. I'm the opposite. Considering it was your first game of the season and on the road vs. a top 5 ranked team ... LSU didn't play "sloppy". They literally shut out Clemson at home in the second half. Not perfect, but not sloppy. LSU executed at a pretty high level in game one on the road in that environment against Clemson. If LSU had played a sloppy game on defense, they would have lost and given up 24-31 points against an offense as talented as Clemson. Instead, they executed at a pretty high clip. Offensively, had the two TO's, but if you watched the game, they executed a game plan really well. Had 25 first downs in the game and possessed the ball for 37 minutes . You don't do that playing "sloppy" against a quality opponent on the road. -

I agree with Brian Kelly on that one. LSU did dominate Clemson in the second half ... when you consider it was a talent neutralized game and LSU was on the road. They got hosed on a TD call, or it's 21-0 in the second half of the game. In a top 10 matchup, if the road team outscores you by 21 in a half, the home team got dominated in the second half IMO. -
Kalen Deboer: 8-4 fired?
Philip Barber replied to Texas fan in Georgia's topic in On Texas Football Forum
His problem with the players is the players. They are Saban kids, and they don’t want to play for him and probably nobody else either. Bama should have hired someone they were familiar with. Last year, he had to play Milroe. The team would have revolted. Milroe didn’t fit his scheme. So, he is a year behind with Simpson. Not having Grubbs hurt too but if a head coach needs particular guys to be successful than there will be a problem eventually once the guy gets an opportunity to get his own gig, which is one reason Saban was successful. It would eventually be the downfall of Mack at the end. He could not get the coordinator on the same page with him. -

Honestly with the day he had, to come back and throw some of the passes he did, shows he was starting to get into his own but unfortunately time ran out and he still made some bad throws towards the end. But as people much smarter and knowledgeable than me have said, there was some good mixed in with the bad.

Arch has no problem whatsover with arm strength... no he doesn't have a joe milton type of arm or even josh allen but he's gonna be fine... He's got a stronger arm than burrow and even more arm talent, not to mention he's a better athlete. With Arch the last thing we need to worry about is talent... If there's one thing that jumped out the tape saturday was that he's actually really raw and I'd advise against judging how his mechanics/footwork are just from the OSU game. He's got the best supporting cast a QB could ask for and I can assure you they've been teaching and honing fundementals since before middleschool... his clock was just too sped up on saturda, he needs to get a lot more comfortable playing.

$70,000,000 buy out ... he ain't getting fired until that number goes down. Bama doesn't have A&M booster money ...
