  1. Past hour
  2. Looks like someone’s kid just left their Texas actions figures laying on the ground.
  3. The remarkable thing to me is that this program has had many of the same issues since Sark arrived and none of them have been addressed. The extremely experienced 2024 OL couldn’t get any push in the run game against any decent defensive lines. It took three high-level nfl players (Bijan, Roschon, and Brooks) who were elite at breaking tackles to overcome the problem. I think Sark looked at the results (really good running game 2021-2023) and trusted his buddy Flood without actually reviewing the tape and the advanced analytics. This has been a problem for years that was going to rear its head the second either the OL or RB experience or talent dipped just a bit. This year, unfortunately, both happened. The same is true of penalties. The number of penalties the OL creates is completely unacceptable. That’s a Kyle Flood problem. But we also get a ton of ST penalties and boneheaded plays. That’s a Banks problem. The same is true of Milwee and qb development / mental makeup. I’ve said it before, but Sark has a problem with delegating too much to his buddies on the coaching staff and not holding them accountable. When the same problems keep popping up year after year across multiple position groups and dozens of different players, the problem is systemic. And it stems from the coach who oversees the entire offense.
  4. CJ is Texas just being extra cautious with their injured players given the level of opponents they’ve been playing? I’m wondering how many of them will be active vs Florida
  5. Sit Baxter and Wisner. Need them for UF/OU. Unleash Simon!
  6. Most depressing thread of the day.
  7. I think that a QB being "protected" from hits is a luxury that the QB must earn by being invaluable in the passing game. What Arch has shown thus far is that his legs are his best attribute and the passing game is middling at best. Until that changes it's nonsensical to avoid QB runs for the sake of protecting him. He either needs to sit on the bench or do what the team needs to win games, and that is use his legs. If the passing game turns around then we can reevaluate this later.
  8. Last season, Arch played with confidence and was growing into a really good player. Not being the starter and not having all the outrageous expectations put him in a good place mentally. This year is not last year. Not sure why that is so difficult to understand.
  9. Dumb question: should Sark get Arch warmed up by calling a bunch of early deep shots? Just like he warmed up Quinn by calling a bunch of short, quick throws and screens, which was Quinn’s comfort zone, I wonder if it would get Arch going to hit a couple of deep shots. Sark barely called any deep shots in the first half against UTEP, but maybe that would actually benefit Arch. Some combination of giving him 7-10 designed runs and 5-10 deep throws a game might get him some success and feeling a rhythm.
  10. One thing I noticed in the highlights was that TD throw to Wingo. Great ball placement by Arch there, but if you watch his mechanics top to bottom they’re on point. No side arm, turns his hips, and isn’t flat footed. The ability is there and I’m sure he does that in practice as well. Only explanation I can think of is the yips. Sark and Milwee need to get him back to that confidence he had last year in his 2 starts.
  11. Today
  12. sure but if you (not saying you specifically) want Flood fired, you haven't been paying attention for a while
  13. Wheew some people shouldn't post
  14. I’ve never called for Flood to be fired, I’ve always thought he was a strong hire. That said, his track record with elite Oline recruits isn’t where it should be, and the run blocking has been shaky. He’s got to bring in more top-tier talent and get the line playing with greater physicality. It’s fair to say he’s not flawless.
  15. The offense is working. Our QB's accuracy is off. The kid started and beat Mississippi St and UTSA last year. He played well in both. He played with moxie against the Aggies and with guts against Georgia last year. I've watched enough videos of him throwing to moving targets with great accuracy. It isn't like he just forgot how to play football. This has to be mental; between the ears. You do not take him out or try to change him. He is already running the ball some. I don't think you change anything. You rally around him. That's my opinion.
  16. So everyone list your top 3 OL coaches Sark should hire? Oh do not use google... Let's hear it..

  17. Question for @CJ Vogel @Bobby Burton @Gerry Hamilton. Given that Arch is going up against a very good defense in practice, was there rumblings of these issues in practice already before the season started? I can’t imagine that he’s tearing it up in practice against the UT defense and then completely stinking it up against UTEP and other lesser (SJSU) opponents.
  18. Might let up on "quitters' until we get eliminated from playoffs in a few weeks unless offense pulls a 180. I could see several Jr's and Sr's "preparing for draft"...
  19. A year ago, we thought a mobile Joe Burrow was wasting away on the sidelines while a future 7th rounder plateaued. There are new datapoints. Hopefully misleading and incomplete but nevertheless can't blame our fans. Everyone inside a college blueblood or NFL lockeroom knows the reality of tape is worse than the distasteful fan boos, Sark and Arch and Taaffe essentially acknowledged it.
  20. Here’s another fun rushing stat….45% of Texas’ 53 rushing attempts went for 2 or fewer yards …. against UTEP!!!
