  1. Past hour
  2. What high ground did you sense, ace? Some folks get a laugh out of people losing their minds over game one of a long season. And somehow you had to react to that, didn’t you? Were you being sanctimonious in your own right? Sure looks that way…
  3. They also made sure that Collin wasn’t going to be the superstar. Very quick passing. This is to be expected where teams are going to scheme around him
  4. It's not sanctimonious or self-aggrandizing to say that claiming we suck or Sark needs to stop calling plays is an overreaction. That was a close game against a really good team on the road. If you were a Bama fan, you'd have reason to be really concerned. They were terrible in all facets of the game against a mediocre team.
  5. It is what it is anywhere sports matter to people who can post about it. Good take. Hookem.
  6. Its good this type of game happened in week 1 if it were to happen at all. A slice of humble pie to draw attention to the areas that need adjustments and improvements on top of the many positives that are easy to overlook when in the line of fire. I expect more leaders to step up and find a voice when dealing with conflict and for the team to rally and forge their own identity moving forward. There is a lot to learn from yesterday's battle but the sky is still the limit for this 2025 team.
  7. And about your standard reply as well. Yes, it’s sanctimonious. A claiming of some fictional internet high ground because fanatics react emotionally to the thing they love.
  8. Fair enough but I'm not claiming a moral high ground. I just watched the game differently. How fans feel is how they feel. Some of the reactions from my POV are comical.
  9. So, complaining about or mocking overreactions is sanctimonious. Gotcha.
  10. Ohio State played with a deep safety or field crossing corner (Wingo deep shot) to prevent big passing plays. That helped our run game some. Arch just missed his intermediate and short passes. He seemed to rush throws once he made his decision. That hasn't happened before in his time on the field. Pretty confident he'll clean up his mechanical errors. He made some bigtime throws under pressure during the comeback attempt.
  11. Standard post loss topics. A bunch of “Oh Noes. We suck!” Usually a suggestion or three that “We fire or reassign a coach.” Someone will bop in with a “…but how will this affect recruiting ?” thread. And, of course, you get sanctimonious threads like this one where someone claims moral high ground for “not overreacting.” It is what it is, and you can copy and paste most of the posts minus a few game specifics on any sports message board in America.
  12. I’m cautious on the pass rush. We’ve really only seen it at a high level from Simmons. I have optimism that Burke will get better and better as the year goes on and he’ll probably end up around the 7-8 sacks mark. But outside of that it’s skepticism for me. Haven’t seen anything from anyone else outside of Vasek that gets me excited about the pass rush this year, and he hasn’t proven that he can stay on the field. I do think the pass rush will improve as this was the first game and against what may be the most talented oline we’ll face, but I’m not convinced that it will be elite or on par with last year’s pass rush. Just too many unknowns. Oline was encouraging to me. The pass pro was really good considering the opponent and hostile environment and the run blocking was decent to really good at times. Unfortunately, without any elite running backs this is what we are going to get in big time matchups. An elite running back would have had well over 100 yards yesterday. Wisner doesn’t have the burst and Baxter’s best asset is picking up blitzes. He’s not the runner we thought he’d be. Can’t wait to see the young guys over the next three weeks.
  13. Ethan Burke played really good. The dude is a problem for our opponents.
  14. Re-watched the game late last night and both lines of scrimmage were really good. As for the defense, you had the two penalties that kept the first scoring drive alive and the big play to Tate. Those can be corrected, but they're also things that happen game to game. If you really think Arch will keep missing open throws, I don't know what to tell you. I'll take that defense and run game with Arch's talent every time.
  15. Yep! Some Coaches styles don’t work when they are not in charge of who to draft, trade, cut, recruit, etc. That’s why I overlook great college coaches who spent a moment in the pros then went back to coaching college because they knew it wasn’t going to work under the constraints presented when working for a pro sports franchise. “If they want you to cook the dinner, at least they ought to let you shop for some of the groceries.” ~Bill Parcells
  16. The defensive line was awesome. It isn't Colin Simmons and a bunch of others. They played great yesterday.
  17. They went more jumbo EDGE/5 with Kanu to stop the run vs. Ohio State
  18. I thought Justus Terry was out there as well.
  19. I agree its hard to be a HC and a playcaller but at the same time the #1 single thing Sark has done best in his coaching life is playcall. He does need to make some type of change or check and balance system or someone to make some situational suggestions.
  20. Can't falt the OL for the 4th and 1. That play was telegraphed and they were totally out numbered inside.
  21. Today
  22. Not quite 30 but a lot of rotation for such a big game on the road. surprised how little Spence played. Would have wanted to see more vasek as well
  23. I don't think their gameplan included having holes consistently created in the run game against their front 7.
  24. Part of me wonders if Sark overcorrected a bit with the switch from speedy to big WRs. I do know this: Worthy, Mitchell, Golden all would have been open all day long yesterday.
  25. Snap counts, according to PFF:
