Yeah Mark, I think we dodged a bullet, we do not have a lot of accumulation on trees. -

My back deck, looking over Walnut Creek and the pocket park beyond it, in northwest Austin, at 8 AM. No limbs down! -
How many touchdowns did the offense score this year? That constitutes as making plays and regardless how you feel everything starts up front. Were they as successful as I would have liked, no. But excusing a star player because he made plays is not playing to the standard. It's playing to a player and I know that for a fact. The standard is the standard.

If you don’t like it, don’t get so invested in the behind the scenes. Saturdays are the same as they’ve ever been. If you are on these boards you are seeing how the cake is made rather than just enjoying it after it’s served. -

Glad you’re staying! I want to add this. You’ll find folks on here that are somewhat negative and folks who are somewhat positive. And everything in between. But most importantly to me, rarely does anyone lose sight of the fact that we’re all wanting the best for Texas, just in our own way. In other words, Hook’Em first and foremost. -

It’s easier for folks to pick holes against perfection IMO. -

I don't know if you can tell, but we have a lot of oaks, and it doesn't appear that there was a lot of adherence to the limbs, so (hopefully) we won't have a lot of breakage. P -

Wokeness???? 🤷♂️ Do tell us ordinary mortals! Barry won with Jimmy's players. After that, with only a few bright spots overshadowed by Jones, it was over for me. College has always been more interesting on the field, but current trends away from student athletes has all but killed that for me. Players not getting paid was a raw deal for them, though. -

Ugh. Still one of the most dominating high school tapes I have seen. They showed it at the Houston TD Club player of the year ceremonies and everybody kind of oohed and awed while watching. -

I gave up on the Cowboys when Jerry Jones sacked Tom Landry and others {not that he fired them, but the disrespectful way he did it). I gave up on the rest of pro sports when they became so mercenary. College sports seem to be headed the same direction. I just hope we can win an NC in the next few years while it’s still worth caring about. -

And the key factor for Arch: he can get away from one rusher, it’s only when multiple guys get through that he has a problem. So even if the LG gets beat, if the other guys hold up, we’ll be fine.

Remember, Arch has wheels and moves well within the pocket, plus the running backs are not dancers. They are darters! Big difference. -

You’re not wrong. As a rabid lifetime Texas fan it’s hard to even fathom not being “all-in” Saturdays in the fall. But the reality is right now these are mercenary players and no one has any loyalty or patience to grow and develop. Football is quickly devolving into what basketball has become and the product will degrade and suffer at every level as a result. I’m not ready to give up Texas but I’ve given up the rest of college football and all other sports just in the last 3 years because of how little the leagues think of the fans. All the ads, the endless TV timeouts, the horrid announcers, worsening officiating, and outrageous prices for tickets/concessions at the games made it easy for me to spend my time and money elsewhere. -

The snow has arrived in Austin. I have warned my dog, that if she wants to play around in 18 degree weather she will be left outside 😂. If she knows what's best she'll take care of her business, and come back inside to 75 degrees. -

I quit the Dallas Cowboys after they were a no-show at home vs the Packers and their rookie QB. And I had been a Cowboys fan since childhood. I was turned off by the NFL's venture into Wokeness and I haven't watched Pro football since I stopped caring about the Cowboys. I tried to watch but discovered I no longer cared. I haven't watched an NBA game in many years after following the League since I was a youngster. Same for MLB... last game I recall watching was when the Texas Rangers were one strike away from winning the World Series. So CFB and the Longhorns have been my refuge. I still watch Nowhere State play Whattsamotta U on TV. Some of the things about the new landscape of CFB bother me but so far I am still caring. I'm retired now and I realize I'm no longer in the target audience for Pro sports but as College sports moves more and more into the professional mode I will hang in as long as I still enjoy the College games and I'm a Texas Ex, so I will always love the Longhorns. Hook 'Em!
