Redzone Offense 2025 will be very giod
Dread-headed Texan replied to Raistlin's topic in On Texas Football Forum
He's right the RZ offense will be very good. We won't be running tosses and sweeps at the 2 yard line. We won't be banging our head against a brick wall trying to block 7/8 with 6 while praying undersized backs can push the pile. Don't take my word for it watch the tape. I dare you to find me any 2 3/4 games where Texas had as much success as Texas did with Arch. I'll wait. That's not me bashing Quinn, but the truth is he was limited. Go watch how different the play calls were. -

Moore of these types of throws. -
We are officially on fall camp week! Practice kicks off on Wednesday, and for the Horns, there will be plenty of eyes on how the Arch Manning-led offense will look early on in camp. A couple of nuggets from the last month or so of workouts. *** • First, there has been an extra emphasis from wide out throwing sessions to focus on the back shoulder throw. Primarily focusing on body control and showing hands late when the ball is in the air. Those routes include typical go routes, hole shots in zone coverage, slot fades and seam routes. The expectation is there will be more of these routes and throws in the Texas offense this season with Manning than what we saw over the last three years with Quinn Ewers. • My expectation for Wednesday is to see Wingo–Moore–Mosley trotting out with the first unit with Livingstone and McCutcheon being the first two to rotate in. • Several times this offseason I have heard folks are expecting a massive season for Ryan Wingo. • I will add this on Michael Terry III, while I don't know how much we will see of the San Antonio native, I can report the 6-foot-3-inch wide out has been as active behind the scenes as anyone on the roster. Terry will solely focus on the wide receiver position in fall camp despite speculation he may be moved around at H-Back or TE.

Jordan Seaton is a very good LT with elite potential. I'm sure he'll be target #1 for teams if there's a window.

Pretty sure that a HC change opens the portal for a roster for 30 days. To your question about OT, Jacob Seaton is a former 5 star. I think he started as a freshman and he is still on the roster. Might want to fact check that, though. -
If Coaches change…. Would players be allowed to Portal? Didnt they have a #1 OT ????

OTF Premium Will Arch Manning Hit 4k Passing Yards? (Saturday AM)
CJ Vogel replied to CJ Vogel's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Matt Leinart also never had the luxury of playing more than 13 games. Leinart averaged 293.5 yards per game his final year. One more game in that season and he ends up with 4,109 yards. I believe it's very attainable with a 14-15-16 game schedule. -

Shurmur seems like a reasonable interim for the season -
I think he’s has one foot out the door already imo, Colorado only has 5 high school commitments at the moment and not nearly the coverage as the past two years now his boys are gone. If he steps away now that doesn’t leave Colorado in a good spot this close to the season and if that is the case his health may be worse than we think

man! prayers for the dude!

I bet he leaves and retires. Whatever is going on with these blood clots sounds like a very serious medical issue and now that his son is gone there's no reason to put up with the stress.

If we make our field goals against Georgia we are SEC champions. -
Interesting Deion Sanders update. Conducting a press conference tomorrow with his “medical team”. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/deion-sanders-and-his-medical-team-will-hold-a-press-conference-on-monday

Good thoughts IMO. -
I was listening to Rod B’s podcast this morning and came away optimistic that our redzone problems are fixed for 2025. Each of the problems Rod identified from the last couple of years have been corrected. 1. OL not “bullies” - Majors and Connor replaced with better run blockers in Umeozulu and Hutson. 2. RBs not inside runners - Instead of Wisner and Blue in the redzone, we have Baxter, Gibson, Clark and Simon. We will be running more gap scheme and inside zone as opposed to outside zone which Wisner and Blue were better at. While we had Gibson last year (and he was our best redzone runner), he was a true freshman who hadn’t figured out ball security. Hopefully, that has changed with a year of seasoning. Sark has been great in the redzone with the proper RB. 3. QB undersized and not mobile - Arch definitely cures that. Arch had an 80% redzone TD rate in 2024. He is big enough to sneak the ball and mobile enough where the defense must account for him in the run/scramble game. 4. Sideshow Burt - while we want TDs, our kicker won’t miss chip shots. 5. Turnovers - remember the aTm game where two TOs in the redzone changed the complexion of the game? This one is to be determined, but I don’t see Arch fumbling on slides or making lazy throws to the perimeter.

To be fair (I know), the cheating from Bud and Switzwer preceeded Castiglione. I thought he was very good for them, and consequently I'm really glad he is out of the picture now. They look like a total cluster now.

I think Eric Winston played at Miami. He wanted to but his aggy parents wouldn't let him, so the compromise school was Miami.
