OTF Premium 5-star WR on campus
LonghornFan4Ever replied to Hank South's topic in On Texas Football Forum
While Hartline was a fantastic recruiter, Ohio State recruited and developed NFL level WRs prior to his stint. The school recruits itself imo. I’m sure @LovingBuckeye can attest to this. I’m interested to see if the recent success of IU’s football program and WR development under Curt Cignetti and Mike Shanahan (along with a boost in NIL) is enough to keep him in state. -

Gotta remember Brian Hartline left so they might not have the same level recruiting power. Still gonna be tough to win but without Hartline maybe we have a shot. -
I actually thought he wasn’t too bad doing TV commentary

I just have a hard time believing he doesn’t land at ohio state with their track record at wide receiver development. Maybe our failed attempt of that late pursuit with chris henry jr has given me nightmares and flashbacks. -

Bjorn is a SF. That spot is reserved for a portal SG. -

Lee’s replacement will be the portal visitor on campus. Bjorn will get a ton of minutes off the bench next season and then start at the 3 after Book graduates. -

Honest opinion, do you think this is real interest? or do you think he was possibly instructed by an agent to at least visit Texas so he may have more leverage in NIL negotiations with other schools? -

Let’s hope his interest is legitimate and not just a NIL stunt -

Stamina yes. But getting your ass handed to you by Leonard Davis then having to tackle Jamaal Charles in open space. And sticking with old guys, I’m not sure there would have been a place for Brandy Perryman on the football field.

Trevor Goosby - wasn't he pretty good at basketball in high school?

Addison Bjorn likely takes that spot. She's a gunner. -
I agree on that. Basketball is the most athletic sport of the big 3 ... by far Besides the constant run and jump, changing direction constantly on both ends, playing through the feet and hips on both ends every possession ... it'a totally different level of athletic stamina.

“We are excited and fired up to welcome Isi Etute to our women’s basketball program here at The University of Texas,” Texas head coach Vic Schaefer said. “She brings so much to the table with her competitive spirit, toughness, and physicality, and she is a high-character young woman who is truly excited to be a Longhorn. She also comes from a strong, supportive family, and that foundation shows in the way she carries herself on and off the floor. We believe she will come in and make an immediate impact on our program because of the physical presence she plays with on the floor. Her skill set allows her to score from beyond the arc, in the mid-range, and on the block. She will be a great teammate and really puts the icing on the cake for this incredible freshman class. With her addition, this group has a chance to be one of the most impactful freshman classes in the history of The University of Texas.” From Etute: “I chose Texas because I see myself competing at an elite level and I want to be challenged in a highly competitive program. Most of all I have a lot of respect for Coach Vic Schaefer and his coaching style and his emphasis on defensive intensity and toughness. I truly believe he will bring out the best in me as a player.”

From the discussion on coffee and football this morning. I think basketball is the eliminator when it comes to figuring out the best athlete. During my playing days I played with guys that were incredible football players and baseball players, but looked like totally inept on the basketball court. You find me a guy that can play two sports well, as well as basketball, and you’re looking at one of your best athletes. On the Horns to me it sounds like Jonah Williams is that guy.
