Really sad to hear for this young man and the team. I hope whatever is going on with him gets sorted out and he’s able to finish his career and get a great education! Wishing the best for him and whatever he’s dealing with.

I know Jonah doesn't want to play LB but he could be an option as a Nickel LB in obvious passing downs. Or we could put McDonald in that role if Black and Jonah are ready to go at safety.

Interesting thought - what about putting Jonah Williams at LB? Isn’t he around the same size as Tyanthony? Obviously not ideal, but could be interesting

That's one of several hurdles in targeting a portal linebacker right now.

All I'll say is that folks who assumed this was simply a disgruntled player walking out on his team jumped the gun with that line of thinking.

I can see Texas kicking the tires at a couple of guys. But with these Court decisions, you never know one day to the next . Any addition couldn't help now , but by mid season who knows. Probably ride it out, and do the best with what we have at lb.

Getting snaps with the ones last weekend in the scrimmage seems to have him headed in the right direction.

Obviously he is gone so really doesn't matter. But being reported elsewhere Sark dismissed him , he didn't actually quit. Be interesting to nail that down, move on, and wish all the best. Treat it like an injury and next youngsters up lol.

Hopefully the path to meaningful playing time for Atkinson gets him locked in and he 180s from the underwhelming Spring. Would be really cool.
