Texas women's basketball portal thread

Unfortunately, the team isn't set up right now to capitalize on Maddie's last season. Very few teams on the women's side get to the Final Four with mostly new players on their roster much less win a championship in Vic's system. Unless we get a couple experienced stars in the portal that can pick up things fast, my expectations will be tempered a bit for next year. -
Two thoughts. One, Borba needs to sit and recover mentally. He's just not there right now (justifiably so). The golden sombrero put him into a bad head space. Two, I'm struggling to understand why Duplantier is still in the lineup. Okay on defense, but entirely to prone to issues on offense. Regardless of what happens this series I think that is a weakness in the lineup.

Except Spaights is an open gate on defense. 🤣She'll have to develop ALOT on defense to even get serious playing time with Vic, but I'm sure she knows that. -
Top to bottom this lineup is below average. Having Borba, gumbo etc in the lineup is not good. Not blaming Schloss’s because we lost a couple of portal guys to the draft. But it still doesn’t compare to those all American type players. Furthermore they’re one year rentals unlike the other 3 at A&M were. A rod has been a disappointment due to injuries, yes. But if he can’t stay healthy then that’s that.

She won't have a better opportunity at a contender than here where she'd be set to start unless we get a star PG from the portal. Bri is still a year away from being a consistent contributor and leader on the team. -
Seriously? Tinney is arguably the best offensive catcher in the country. Robbins has 14 home runs. Rodriguez has been mentioned as a possible first-round pick in the '27 draft. Pack came into today hitting .383 in SEC play. I don't buy for a second that Schloss has failed to recruit guys who can't hit.
