Why not get both? Seriously though, you won’t even know if Toney is going to be in the portal until after Coleman is off the board. You pursue Coleman until the end and if that doesn’t work out then you look at the next best alternative, whom ever that happens to be at the time.

We hired Jaden Baugh's position coach. He didnt even bother going into the portal. Think this dude is reading too much into familiarity. He is an Alabama kid that didnt even have Alabama in his top 2 as a freshman. I don't think familiarity is a priority to him. Just my 2 cents.

Come on dude. We're Texas. Of course we are a desirable place to come to. But money has changed the paradigm. We are adapting to it. I am not panicked like so many on here.

If you blindly read this article about OSU losses and entrants to the portal, you would think it was Texas with the same amount of aspersions listed in the story. This is to show that, as the mods have been stating, it’s not just us and we’re actually still doing better than a lot of top flight teams with our retention and additions thus far so woosah!! Hook’em!

It's a shocking change from the rest of college football history but IMO 5 star recruiting classes are now a liability. Without long term contracts it simply doesn't pay to be in the game of player development. If we spend our money retaining these young players that have proven nothing we will lose to the Indiana and Tech's of the world that are stacking proven 23 year old players in the portal. I think the sweet spot is getting some of the 2nd and 3rd year players that are ready to contribute but have a little growth ahead of them as well. E.g. Mosley, Watson, etc. Then we have some continuity without blowing money bench riding 18 year olds.
