Why can’t MLB draft him now?

Found this really interesting! This doesn’t happen often, if ever. Still super early as he wouldn’t play until the 2027 College Season but usually Japanese players play in Nippon Professional Baseball (Japan’s MLB) before asking to be posted to MLB. If his plans go through, this would be a fun recruitment to watch. A year at a US college would make him eligible for the MLB draft without NPB. It should be noted that he can be drafted to NPB in 2026 so I wonder if a college NIL offer would need to rival a NPB Contract. Either way it will probably bring huge fanfare/revenue to whatever University he chooses.

Will be interesting how UT and Ou attack the portal with both having significant needs

He’s not. His role and snaps were diminished as season went on. Great floor, low ceiling.

Can he play LB?

Would be a good pickup for size at the cb level.

TyAnthony was already eating into his snaps this year to get more speed on the field. Between Atkinson, Barnes, Smith, and a portal guy or two, we’ll be okay. Would have liked to keep him

Wish him well, but cannot worry about the individuals that are leaving. Just means a little more work finding a replacement or coaching up the ones that stay.

CJ said that Liona probably wan't thrilled about what the plan for LB is for next year... my guess is that they didn't guarantee him a starter spot.

Easy to say without knowing the details. Sometimes people come up with crazy demands or expectations. Not saying that happened here but in this game now a days with college free agency basically going on we just never know what the behind the scenes conversations are

Nansen has been a very underwhelming hire.

Fully trust Sark to bring in his replacement quick but man this one stings.
