  2. I’m sure if we get a couple of those freshmen on campus they would be the DH

  4. 1. Better college player than Laya, sue me. Certainly last year, and probably this coming year too if he turns down the pros. Can actually compete against lefties, more pop, better arm, more polished player. In Laya, LSU gets two years before draft eligibility and a higher draft ceiling, but I would love Brennan if he makes it! 2. Minor point, but as of right now, I don't think we have a DH candidate from the infield, who's a better offensive player than Goldenatz. So IMO the OF+DH lineup today would be LF - Pack (unless promises were made about CF that don't reflect his actual current ability) CF - Goldenatz RF - Brennan DH - Solitaria
  5. I agree with you Gerry and honestly believe it’s the right decision to not allow it. It’s unfortunate for those guys but the rule is set for next year and trying to change that opens a can of worms.
  6. I don't think they will win, guess if my initial thought. People have asked about Jordan Pope and Weaver. If they were granted an extra year, it wouldn't be Texas. Texas already has a minutes issue they will be balancing for a lot of the season because of the talent at guard and wing on the 2026-27 team. Texas doesn't have the spot for a guard, if any of the guys appealing from any school won a year. Isaiah Johnson is the team runner/PG that will command 29-30 mins. Austin Goosby is playing starter minutes, Mikey Lewis is playing starter minutes, Amari Evans is a terrific 4th guard as a top notch defender that will be improved offensively in year two in the SEC ... all minutes in backcourt are eaten up but really good players that fit very well together in their roles. Then the wing is Elyjah Freeman starter minutes, and Bo Ogden as a very important shooter/floor spacer with rebounding ability in his role in year one. We're talking three future NBA draft picks for sure, and three others that will be pro players on some level long term.
  7. Johnny Treadwell is the #60 in my avatar. I was in the end zone right in front of that tackle, one of those memories you can't forget.
  8. Today
  9. Earl Campbell and Jamaal Charles… easy peasy.
  10. Sounds like a great pickup.....one wonders if Gasparino had positive things to say about his time at Texas and if that had any influence on his decision to pick Texas
  11. Someone get this article to Fa'alave-Johnson! 😊
  12. Cooper and LWC in 2028
  13. Along with several others. @Gerry Hamilton any thoughts?
  14. I knew this number would have a good list of some great players, but, imho, I totally agree that Mr. Nobis “stands alone at the top”
  15. I would guess someone had "the talk" with him about football paying most of his NIL
  16. Got Gary Patterson on his staff. Could be a " not so fast my friend."
  17. ehhh i disagree. Texas has a chance to sign four of the top 10 or so recruits in the country. Camara will end up top 10 (if not 1)
  18. I'm not sure there is any measure (other than physical size) that indicates Brian Jones was superior to Britt Hager. I didn't think that Jones should have been given the #60 at the time, but I was super fired up as a kid when Jones transferred to Texas from UCLA. He was a physical freak (6'3", 260# at 4.5) before they grew on trees. But Hager was indisputably a better LB. Man, Hager was a tackling machine. Especially against A&M, Hager was an absolute beast in '87 and '88. Just gutting through it. I think he is still and probably always will be the all-time leader in tackles at the University. I like players getting to use the #60 from time to time. I'm not a fan of retiring numbers when their names can be immortalized in the stadium. *I should have my eyes checked. When I first looked at the graphic I saw Jones, but not Hager! Getting old is fun
  19. I know they aren’t the same sport, but I’m afraid the US will most always fail in a World Cup because our best athletes play baseball, football, and basketball. I still wanted us to win more…they were better than last night’s game. But hesitant, unsure, undisciplined soccer doesn’t win.
  20. Can’t wait them to get the pitchforks out and fire Lincoln.

  22. Nobis played Guard too in one platoon football. Treadwell was no slouch, either. Leiding and Sendlein were fundamental to their teams. Hager was a force. So much greatness!! Nobis paid the price in his kater years, though. Tough on his family, sadly. 🤘🏻🤘🏼🤘🤘🏽🤘🏾🤘🏿
  23. This is a tough one for sure. Nobis stands alone but as Blake said, many other REALLY good players.
