  1. Past hour
  2. Couple of things. Discipline is a real problem for Texas. Recurring theme. Leadership lacking. Recurring. Bad playcalling. Recurring. Poor offensive line play. Recurring. Accountability. Special Teams both players and coaches. Same players making same or similar mistakes on every part of the team. Offense Defense and Special Teams. Our best players and leaders cant make silly mistakes and blow it off. Simmons last week PF kept drive alive, jumped offsides tonight. Biles PF on an interception allowing drive to continue and give up points. Arch handing out game balls to the gooners gift wrapped. Here is the one that really bothers me. The last 2 QBs at Texas were both 5 star athletes and ranked 1 in their respective class. With the time that both had on the 40 would anyone say that they were developed to the expected level? Same issue with OL specifically Guards and Center. The good is that atleast WRs and DL are where they should be or ahead.
  3. I respectfully disagree, Not saying Arch wasnt a problem but the play calls, scheme, and inability to build any continuity is a major problem.
  4. I'm sure we will win more games but I'm not picking us to win again until they show us that they have turned a corner. Don't put it out of the realm of possibility that we lose next week.
  5. I'm trying to understand Elko's logic behind this crash out? What's the end game in it? Ultimately he'd just discredit and marginalize TexAgs, Billy and their entire media infrastructure. Lots of money invested into it. Everyone knows TexAgs is a cesspool of lunatics, but it's been a centerpiece of Aggie culture for over 20 years now. (Chrissy, Radio, Cart McCoy, List eater etc was a long time ago) I think this is gonna blow up in Elko's face. He's essentially asking for a blindly loyal and dumb cult fanbase. Apparently that's the Aggie caricature he's adopted as reality. Fascinating
  6. He was in this exact same scenario in 2023 Red River and instead of going for the first down and having Bert Auburn kick a walk off field goal, he kicks the field goal and leaves a minute plus for Dillion Gabriel to march down the field and score the game winning touchdown. Can’t believe he made that same mistake again three years later.
  7. Yeah it’s definitely part of it. It’s tough because what they did clearly got them out of the mud that he inherited. But at the same time you can’t keep testing the definition of insanity. They have to change some of the staff though, it’s stale with banks and flood
  8. I’ve defended Arch through thick and thin…but you’re absolutely right. Two boneheaded, just inexcusable plays down the stretch. Understandable / tolerable for a freshman who just doesn’t have the reps under their belt (like Keelon Russell, who embarrassingly looks much more poised than Arch). With the number of starts 16 has at this point, decision-making has got to be better. Yes, mistakes are unavoidable. But twice in critical situations at Red River? Can’t happen.
  9. The hardest loses are self inflicted ones. Beating yourself is the most frustrating thing in sports. That frustration can lead us to expressing opinions about coaches' and players' as if we have all the answers. It may lead us as fans to forget, in the moment, that the professionals likely already know about these issues and spend a lot more time trying to solve them than we do. Also, the difference in how much we make coaching and what they make is significantly different for a reason. This team has issues it has to solve to reach what I think its goals are. That said, the only goal that cannot be achieved is an undefeated season. Not sure that was ever considered to be a goal at all. Its not time for frustrated fans to abandon the program and count them out.
  10. It's not Flood's scheme, it's Sark's. But on the other note, I love that for Baxter. Was a shame we had to move on from him but he just could never stay healthy at Texas.
  11. It’s definitely the system, not the players. People can say, “players must execute,” but if they’ve been saying this for six seasons, maybe it’s not all on the players.
  12. It’s not 20/20. You go get two yards and run out the clock. If you don’t get the two yards you lose nothing in field position.
  13. Meanwhile, CJ Baxter scores the winning TD against LSU while rushing for 100+ on 6 YPC. Maybe the issue with our run game isn’t the players, it’s the OL and Kyle Flood’s scheme.
  14. There’s six seasons of evidence to prove that it’s not the players. It’s the system the players are placed in.
  15. Don’t think it could necessarily be a bad thing. They need some old habits to die hard, but not sure I trust this brain trust to make it happen
  16. I’m so tired of getting my hopes up
  17. A convo that probably wont happen because his name is Manning and not Johnson...I hope he turns it around and proves me wrong.
  18. He’s a fan and a paying member on this site. What qualifies you to call out fans that call coaches and players out? We all get to make comments on this site. Not just ones you agree with.
  19. Yes Ref’s wee not the issue but I thought the roughing the passer and PI against Phillips were bad calls. He called roughing because Biles hit him hard IMO. Bad call
  20. Gotten worse since they stopped playing Big 12 and started playing SEC defenses
  21. Point 4 is legit, I’m no coach and I’ve known for three years they’ve had a guard, center, guard problem
  22. One of, if not, the worst loss I can think of. Embarrassing. Robertson needs to be done. I've been staying patient with him but something has to change there. He's not the only blame by any means but he's just been on my radar for a while and this one did it for me. Bad coaching Bad execution Bad effort Bad discipline Just a really bad football game 27 points scored with one offensive TD and being outgained by 150 yards. Absolutely embarrassing product on the field today. Hopefully it'll be a wake-up call for the better and not for the worse.
