Demanding more money? or doesnt like the competition Sark is going after in the portal? From his perspective, Wisner probably wants to be the featured back if he wants to play one more year in CFB. His draft grade probably wasnt what he wanted and needs to build up his resume Another reason I am following CFB less and less.

I don’t think these kinds of things catch the coaching staff off guard. I am confident that if Texas wants to keep someone they will keep them. Having said that……they have a number they value a player at a certain dollar number and if the player/agent have a much higher number Texas lets them walk. It’s like professional sports now.

I believe it is an indicator that loyalty is a non-factor. And we’re just getting started so loyalty will mean even less over time. For my fandom, that is not a positive. One reason I care nothing about college basketball anymore is because of the roster turnover. Maybe there aren’t many that care anything about loyalty, I don’t know. Heres the thing, there will be days when those guys you mentioned would be more effective football players than their replacements.

There is nothing morally wrong with players making purely business decisions but that says that their relationship with UT is purely transactional. It's fair for us fans to be prefer those who go deeper than that. We'll see if guys like Wisner and Moore even have the NIL market they are looking for. Seems doubtful to me. Those guys aren't superstars.

My take on this won’t be popular with some folks (and that’s OK), but I simply don’t believe in this line of thinking. If Lefau, Moore and Wisner had their druthers, they’d all be back at Texas for one more seasons. But them deciding what’s best for their future and the staff deciding what’s best for the construction of the 2026 roster shouldn’t bring about questions of either side’s loyalty. I wish it were different, but it’s where we are in college football.

It's just a matter of NIL. Texas saw Wisner as a good #2 but not good enough to be the lead back. Wisner wanted #1 RB money. We will see if he gets it in the portal (doubtful IMO). Last year a bunch of returning players successfully extorted us for more $ and that's how we had a mediocre $40M+ roster. This year it appears we learned our lesson.
