Texas Tech is signaling that integrity in college sports is a thing of the past. It's an idea like amateurism that simply won't survive our culture.

They absolutely are if you think and act ethically.

Exactly, it’s nothing like throwing up the horns when you hit a home run. It’s actually akin to cheating on a test or plagiarizing, admitting it, getting an F, getting expelled, going to treatment for cheating addiction, then asking the court for your actual grade minus 2 easy points, to get back into school, and to tell the school disciplinary committee they have no authority…because technically you didn’t break any laws.

Would that really accomplish anything? Teams would just have to forfeit to Tech, and Tech would be credited with the wins. In that scenario, they'd effectively only play two actual games this season, plus the Big 12 Championship Game, since they technically wouldn't have lost a single conference game.

Tech is not doing anything "wrong". They are going through the legal process. If there is a bad guy here, it is the judge. I hope BS plays 3/4 of the season, then gets ruled ineligible, and then Texas Tech has to forfeit their games. That is my preferred outcome.

NCAA needs better lawyers who can go head to head against high priced attorneys funded by Billionaires (ie Campbell). So far, NCAA legal team has been toothless against challenges from high priced attorneys representing college football programs

Yes... to the extent Tech had a smidgen of a soul, the president, Athletic Director and Head Coach are without a character. But they ARE "characters."

Law enforcement can just TRY to keep organized crime, Mexican and South American gangs, etc., from bribing/paying players to fix/throw the outcome of games... Under this ridiculous injunction ruling, college athletes who want to "supplement" their NIL and revenue sharing income will have ample opportunities to do that very thing. Geez.

An alcoholic shows up to work drunk repeatedly. He is fired. He files for an injunction. He is granted the injunction. The judge says he would be “irreparably harmed” due to the loss of income. Have we lost our collective minds?

This ruling today saddens me. Someone in C&F chat this morning insinuated Bijan was on the take when he fumbled in the Tech game. This tin foil hat comment pissed me off. This is the kind of crap talk that will constantly happen now anytime a player makes a mistake in a game.

I just saw on twitter a big 12 ad is strongly considering not playing against Texas tech now because of the ruling

If I’m the Big 12 coaches I’d start a league wide Bounty Gate program on Tech players. Incentivize the games for your players now. More injuries, more money.

This is what happens when the country decides money and power are all that matters. This is not a political post but this is a byproduct of America in 26. We keep pretending that ignoring the rule of law and giving only the rich a voice won’t impact everything eventually. We’re reaping now but maybe we’ll start to care. So how long does it take to hear from some of the Iowa state players that got banished from college sports because of the same thing? I wonder if they will try to regain some form of eligibility. Wouldn’t rule it out with how insane this is getting. This is a disgrace to sports in every form

Can the NCAA just keep TT out of the playoffs. If they play Sorsby they ban them from Tournament

I don't like it, but they aren't doing anything illegal. I akin it to when a Longhorn does something like hit a homerun and throws up the Hook'em. If you don't like it, don't let them do it. And Texas is one of the schools that is able to go toe to toe with Tech when it comes to money. It's whether Texas wants to or not. There are other strategies involved.

I do not like this one bit. It doesn’t seem fair to the other colleges, college athletes, the fans, or the rule makers. That being said, I still pray for the young man’s soul. That’s more important than how many football games he plays.
