More reasons to be thankful for moving to the SEC

Bobby has said that Texas is going after more developmental players late in this HS class cause they're preparing to be very aggressive in the portal. I'm gonna predict that no fans here are gonna be complaining about what we're gonna get in the portal lol. Also wanna mention Texas' success rate in the portal. They can scout REALLY well there. The misses are mostly due to character, not talent etc... There's holes here and there but I'd be very very mad if next year we don't have a downhill running game that teams fear to open up the play action and give arch more time in the pocket. IOL and RB to me, along with some changes in the scheme, is paramount. PARAMOUNT. We can live with not getting the #1 WR or TE for example, but we desperately need a very very good interior of the line and a starting RB. On defense safety and linebacker are the priorities for me. I think the young guys at DB are gonna be really good next year and 5 might even come back another year.

More reasons to be thankful for moving to the SEC
GQ03 replied to Jeff Howe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
What's really stupid about their scheduling is they made sure Texas Tech plays both Kansas schools and both Utah schools but they only played one other in-state school and the one they chose to give them was the one they have the least history with. How is there any season in which Texas Tech, Baylor and TCU don't play each other?? -
There is one linebacker/edge, in particular, I have my singular focus on. To have them both... for the 26 season.. would be epic. We're in wait and see mode with these coaching hires, for sure. Remember, guys wanna win and maximize their draft slots... and finishing 2nd place, like Jeff Howe loves to point out, definitely is a major factor around this time. Nobody has mentioned him yet, btw....

Just stumbled upon your Northwestern reference. Interesting, thanks. (...OU can blame it on the consultants) The television-viewing experience has prompted new NFL stadiums to trim capacity by 20 to 25 percent from previous generations to bolster the value of attending in person, according to Marc Ganis, the co-founder and managing director of Sportscorp Ltd., a consulting firm that has helped drive more than two dozen sports facility projects in the U.S. and China.

The best Thanksgiving duo in history
horns96 replied to Jeff Howe's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I'm more for the Summerall part of this thread. I still think color commentators should say less (e.g., Tony Romo). -
Great on Thanksgiving, but they were also one of the best teams ever. One of the networks, probably ESPN, had a pretty good special about Madden a couple of years ago. A lot of young players, including Madden video game players, don't even know that the game was named after John Madden. He was an interesting character.

After the Hill news as much as it pains me to say… Aggy 38 Texas 28 I don’t see us stopping them. No Smith or Hill means a field day between the hashes to the TEs and poor run fits. -

Is that your prediction for the Texas game, or for Washington beating Oregon? -
Who cares if their inbred one-eyed dog is at DKR? I’m better off not seeing that nonsense.

Carlton has been a surprise, South Carolina is one of the few teams who can play multiple athletes who stick to Booker all over the court on defense. It put a lot of pressure on the other players to score. It will help when the injured players return. The rematch in Columbia will be tough. -

Way to go ladies!! Rory gets MVP but Justice Carlton should get honorable mention. If it wasn't for her hustle and physicality, we wouldn't have gotten as many offensive rebounds and Edwards would have gone off on us. She impressed me the most this tournament since I didn't think she was anything special after last year. I wish Jordan Lee knew she was a dawg. When she realizes it, look out. They should have been setting her up the last 2 possession instead of Booker given the defense. Imagine how much better we'd do with Crump, Preston, and Judd giving Booker, Harmon, and Lee a breather. Going to be another special year for the girls. -

Ashton Judd, transfer, is the other shooting guard who has been hurt. She's close to coming back. She's very good too. She is tough and can score. If we get healthy look out. -
What is the worst job in P4 Football?
jbseamus83 replied to Chinadoll10's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Cal was going of be my number 1. Terrible situation with travel and the alumni base and school don't care at all about sports, so there is no support. I wouldn't touch that job if I were a coach.
