Two Longhorns Added to Doak Walker Watch List

Notre Dame with three players announced to the Doak Walker list. -
Texas running backs CJ Baxter and Quintrevion Wisner were named to the preseason watch list for the 2025 Doak Walker Award, given annually to the nation's top college running back. This marks Baxter’s second consecutive year on the list, and the duo becomes the third Texas RB pair in the past four years to earn preseason recognition. Baxter, who missed the 2024 season due to injury, had a standout freshman campaign in 2023 with 659 rushing yards and five touchdowns. Wisner, a third-year player, led the team in rushing in 2024 with 1,064 yards and added 411 receiving yards, making him the only returning 1,000-yard rusher in the SEC.

Burnt Orange Horn -- It's easy to forget what a powerhouse FSU was. For a few seasons Bobby Bowden had the Seminoles rollin'! During that period of time Florida State was one of the "It" schools and was really popular with the young people. I was in Tallahassee several times in the early 1980s and I drove by the football stadium. The FSU football facilities weren't particularly impressive back then. For many years my job required lots of domestic travel. I always tried to look around college campuses and football stadiums when I was in prominent college and university towns. College football has grown a lot since about 1980. The advent of ESPN brought CBS and Fox into the business of televising games and that pulled in the big revenue. Hook 'Em! -
No Seattle stop? 😜 Seems cool - two of the best joining forces! 🤘

Awesome - looking forward to Dallas

Ha. I literally thought he was in Bogota, Columbia!

Only 6 of the 16 SEC teams made the top 15 list. SEC Mike probably took a nap before completing his review. UGA is expecting to play two WR transfers. FL got a WR transfer that should start. Ole Miss is high on an OL transfer expected to start. etc

As a Texan you need to learn how to say Bogota. buh-GOH-duh. Located halfway between Mt. Pleasant and Paris Texas. Hook em!!!
