  2. You hope to see these kids maximize their ability. For Cook, he had to hit rock bottom for him and his circle to wake up to the changes Johntay had to make to be successful.
  3. It was those two drives that ended in FGs. Complete failure by Sark.
  4. Let me add to the D. Moore chorus. He creates instant impact at every level of pass receiving. He blocks, he runs routes, he is fast, he is tough, AND HE CAN CATCH A BAD PASS. On defense, I caught the communication among Hill, T. Moore, and Simmons when they were playing together. It was among the games within the game that looked like late season form for the first time. I also saw three safeties on the field at once: Taaffe, Jelani, and D. Williams. I did not catch the defense they had been in; for example, were there two CBs and one of the safeties playing in the box? That defensive penalties were cleaned up is half that battle, anyway. Sorry we did not see Jonah as a punt returner. If Arch gets dinged, Caldwell does look like more than a safety blanket. He is a pleasant surprise. Against a cupcake team he looked like OU's Heisman hopeful transfer.
  5. There are the obvious stops like Edinburgh (castle is a must, and do a walking tour), but definitely get out into the countryside. Take a day and just drive through the highlands. If you can find a festival going on when you’re there, they are great fun. Hike a section of Hadrian’s Wall., it’s an incredible experience. If you’re golfers, play a course, any course. If you can get to Aran Island, it’s a great day trip - take the ferry over in the morning, rent a bike and go around the island, buy a sweater that’s way too heavy to ever wear in Texas, and then ferry back in the evening. Eat the local dishes - British food is much better than its reputation, although they do eat some disgusting stuff so if you’re not sure what something is, ask. have a great trip!
  6. I’ll take you up on that!
  7. Today
  8. Spend some time on the west coast and visit the islands especially the Isle of Skye
  9. Got to the bye week on a high note. Get healthy and ready for the road grind.
  10. Guys on the commentary team mentioned how Sark wanted to see Lacey in this game, could be that he wants to red shirt him.
  11. Much better overall from Manning. He looked looser and less over thinking things. I will also say that goal line blocking is still an issue, RB's still getting hit in the backfield, etc. But that's just being nit picky but is something that needs to be addressed. Defense played lights out, though I'm still concerned with consistent pass rush, they look good in spurts but I thought we'd see more from them this year. McDonald is an absolute athletic freak. That INT he had was insane lol. My only nit picky stuff was the OL playing poorly at times against a porous defense but other than that, everything looked better and more in sync.
  12. Colin Simmons in a sophomore slump or to early to say? Thought these cupcake games is where he would rack up 3 to 5 sacks.

  14. I’ve been thinking the same thing. I think Robertson gets more push than Cole in short yardage, and I still think Stroh gets beat off the snap way too easily for guys who do not have elite BGO (i.e. Sam Houston, UTEP). I’m also wondering if maybe Conner Robertson and Neto at LG is an even better combo. I get that Hutson has been a vocal leader on the team, but he has usually graded out very poorly in PFF, even going back to when he started some games as a true freshman.
  15. Like I wrote, take this for what it was. It was a much-needed successful night for an offense that needed things to go right. This team still a ways away from being a finished product. From that standpoint, the bye week is huge. I think the best offensive line mix may be Robertson at center with Hutson moving back to left guard in place of Stroh.
  16. I want to see what kind of difference a healthy Wisner makes for the running game. The running game was solid. I can see some things improving, but I'm still concerned about the short-yardage offense against some of the better defensive fronts Texas will face.
  17. The OL needs two weeks of practice because they will be the reason this offense and team doesn't reach Atlanta in December.
  18. Not getting too excited about what was a glorified scimmage but it was nice to see Arch throw accurate passes with confidence, Offensive line still worries me
