Rhett Lashlee advises Texas HS coaches to “insert” themselves into their player’s recruitments. Says that the state of Texas doesn’t better than anyone. Fritz also talked about the dangers of too many people in recruits ears. Encouraged coaches to be a bigger part of that as well.

Especially premium positions. Quarterbacks, left tackles and pass rushers specifically. Those guys aren’t cheap in the portal.

It’s a good philosophy to have, much cheaper retaining talent than acquiring it.

Great guy. Tough that he took a job where it’s almost impossible to win and it will probably be his last year. But he should get a nice P4 position coach job and is only 36 so plenty of time to work his way back up. -

I really like Scotty Walden from UTEP. High energy guy. Seems very genuine and passionate about what he does.
