Sean Miller had a fine gig at Xavier. He wouldn't have taken the Texas job unless he felt he had the resources to build something special. That Texas properly adjusted to a transfer portal market in which the price tags were significantly higher than expected, while also keeping Matas, is impressive, to say the least.

As a Rockets fan, I never expect anything from their draft moves. Yao and Sengun are the only 2 all stars they’ve drafted since 2003 despite multiple lottery picks. Don’t really get trading up for Thornton as they already have enough undersized guards

Two drafts that don’t get talked about enough are the ones 1987 and 2009. Four Hall of Fame players (David Robinson, Reggie Miller, Scottie Pippen and Šarūnas Marčiulionis) in the ‘87 draft. If not for injury and tragedy, Kevin Johnson and Reggie Lewis might’ve joined them. Steph Curry ended up being the prize of the ‘09 draft, but you’ve also got James Harden, Blake Griffin (he’ll be in the Hall of Fame even though his body didn’t allow him to sustain a peak like Steph and Harden had) and Demar Derozan, who will have Hall of Fame numbers when he’s done.
