Paying 7 figures for a softball player
HookemTexas replied to Hookem1012's topic in On Texas Football Forum
I wonder if Tech has become the new evil empire in softball overtaking ou. ou was hated (outside of Norman) because they were dominant, Tech is becoming the bad guy outside of Lubbock for trying to buy a championship. To their credit, Tech fans are owning it saying, tell your boosters to spend money. But their excuse of ou and Texas has been paying players for years holds no water with me. It's not like Texas has been a powerhouse. The Cat years were primarily because of a once in a lifetime pitcher and only once Coach White arrived did Texas make noise in the WCWS. ou on the other hand, possibly, but it's not hard to believe that a standout pitcher wouldn't want to transfer there knowing they have a good chance at a championship. -
American Primeval on Netflix. I understood it to be a toned down version of some of the history of Utah.

A higher OPS shows a better picture of how productive they are offensively.

True. Buss era produced eleven titles. Best news for Lakers is that Buss children sold out. DKR era is done. VY era is done. Kobe produced more than both. -

Seeing Arch in STL reminds of Kobe saying he was listening to AC/DC Back in Black prior to game five of 2009 NBA Finals when the Lakers beat the Magic. Arch gonna be as good as Kobe. -

Give me Todd Shaw over these chumps. -
I like the commercials/ad's they do. It helps keep things a float, for the quality they deliver and I personally find them funny, especially Gerry's ones, lol.

Commercials? Commerce makes the thing go. Might as well set up a protest.

Yeah, but I was just trying to figure out who you think is the issue given that you stated Flores' and Gaspo's problems "point to bad hitting coaching". If Tulo is the hitting coach, are you saying he the problem? If not, which coach is doing the bad hitting coaching? For the record, I think Tulo is a huge asset. Glad he's here.

This. I think some schools are betting on the fact that nothing is enforceable or defensible. You can pretty much do anything right now, the landscape is moving too quickly for any kind of normalcy to settle in. And with effectively no governing body, no actionable enforcement, who's going to object or block any school's strategy at this point? Even if they do, it will take longer to play out in the courts than the repercussions of the original action. So playing by the rules is effectively self-handicapping at this point... its kind of a joke, sadly... 🤘
