College Hoops: NBA withdrawal deadline May 29

Who did Texas replace Ryan Conwell with? Coach Miller said they went after him, but couldn’t get him (high price). It will be interesting to see how the shooting guard position plays out over the year. -
Idea for 10th game in the Big10 and SEC

I nominate you for new college football commissioner. I like it. -
Patterson was the absolute worst AD hire in the country and the only reason he was chosen was because he agreed to force Mack out and Luck wanted that completed before taking over which is not a bad idea for Luck. The admin at the time should have handled Mack appropriately before searching for an AD. Luck would have been infinitely better and who knows who would have been the football coach instead of Charlie Strong had Luck been hired, I am glad we have CDC now but acting like Luck would not have been a gigantic upgrade on Patterson is laughable and frankly pretty idiotic statement.

Luck can only blame himself. What did he think an AD does? As bad as Patterson was, I doubt Luck would have been much of an upgrade. With CDC, we’re in far better shape than Luck could have gotten halfway to. -

Also, Ohio State, Texas, aggy, LSU could play an alternating schedule with ND provided your left with the same even number of Big10 and SEC teams. The idea is to have every Big10 and SEC team play a 9 conference games and a 10th game that’s a power 4 game. -

Also solves the ND independence issue giving them 5 games with 7 more which would be made up of Navy and whatever ACC and Big 12 teams or Northern Illinois (I kid… I kid). -

Gerry Hamilton replied to Gerry Hamilton's topic in On Texas Football Forum
Texas hasn't spoken much with the French guard the last two weeks. If a prospect/agent is looking for starter level minutes, it won't be Texas. Texas will add a role player, that is a multi-year player. -
These games should be played every year due tradition or state rivals as the 10th game: Iowa St. vs. Iowa Nebraska vs. OU Florida St. vs. Florida Georgia Tech vs. Georgia Clemson vs S. Carolina L’ville vs Kentucky Kansas vs. Missouri Pitt vs. Penn St. ND vs. USC ND vs. Michigan St ND vs. Michigan ND vs. Indiana ND vs. Purdue This leaves ten Big teams and 10 SEC to match up. They should be mixed up from year to year for variety for the 10th game. Ohio St. Minnesota Illinois N’westen Wisconsin Maryland Rutgers UCLA Oregon Washington Texas aggy Tennessee Vandy Alabama Auburn Ole Miss Miss. St. LSU Arkansas

So with NBA draft entrants and defectors shaking out … will our coaching staff have a clearer idea of who/what they can get with their last scholarship? Is the French guard still in play? -

Florida gets Condon back Auburn get's Pettiford back Arkansas gets Knox back, but loses Thiero to draft. Kentucky gets Oweh back Michigan unexpectedly gets Lenderborg to withdraw from draft. -
We live in a gun crazy culture with not nearly enough people willing to do anything about it. We have way too many ignorant people in this country to have such lax gun laws. Fire away… I know “Dems fightin’ words!” especially in Texas.

As a head coach, Mack could read a room. He could work the press to his benefit and his team's benefit. Mack knows how to influence and communicate effectively in most situations. But as a head coach on the way out or already out, Mack foolishly behaved emotionally, selfishly and vindictively. Mack's exit added fuel to the fire. His legacy has been tarnished at Texas, largely due to his exiting behavior. Now Mack seems to be repeating the same mistake at NC. Rick Barnes was all class as Texas moved on. Coach Barnes is never mentioned in the same negative light as Mack by Texas fans. Texas fans rightfully cheer for Rick when TN and Texas play MBB. Rick Barnes is much more likely to be honored at Texas AND be supported in mass by the fans than Mack Brown. Texas football fans want Sark overseeing all football matters. Texas fans no longer want Mack speaking for Texas football or being involved. He is not a necessary BB to get back in the box. Right or wrong, Mack takes some of the blame for not getting Luck as AD or Saban as HC. Mack made his bed and now he has to lie in it.
