Pet Peeve: Portal goodbye letters...

The part that I find funny is 99% of the letters contain "with that being said". I get the reason for the letters, it's just amusing. -

What could have been - South Carolina stinking against UCLA

Ridiculous post. Take a deep breath before posting this kinda garbage. Madison Booker is one of the best to ever play for the Lady Longhorns. We wouldn’t have made it to the final 4 without her and Rori leading the way. yes, she had a really bad night shooting against UCLA. Look forward to seeing what she does next season. Hook em!! 🧡🐂🤘🏼 -

On the other hand it makes no sense to burn bridges gratuitously. Leaving one job for another is more often a business choice than not. On the occasions when it is the result of combat or torture or sexual predation a polite response is hypocritical, but they are few and far between. -

I don't get this. Texas didn't deserve to beat UCLA and there's nothing to lament. It was the worst offensive performance in women's Final Four history. Now that's saying something. Don't really like watching the sport because the offense is frustratingly bad. This was an exponentially lower level. I'm just going to accept it and move on. -
....these are the most insincere, fake goodbye letters I have ever read. Why do athletes entering the portal feel as though these make a difference? Spare us the boorish words and just leave! They all sound the same and are likely written by AI. Just once, I would like to read one that speaks the truth, "My agent said he's been talking to a school that will triple my NIL money! Laters!"

I get that but I don't think UCLA forced Booker to have such a bad day. I think it was more self inflicted. Booker hadn't sped up like that mentally the entire year against equally tough defenses (even against the same defense) which is why it was so strange to see that happen to her. I don't think she realized the pressure of the moment had changed her perception of everything happening on the court. At times she wasn't even running our offensive plays and just forcing shots. Vic was baffled as well when Holly Rowe reported what was said during the early timeouts. It was weird. So I wouldn't say UCLA shut her down more so than it was Booker letting her focus get completely out of whack from where it needed to be. The rest of the team did their job and that's why this loss hurts so much. Today's whooping of SC is UCLA dominating another team top to bottom. I'm not mad UCLA won the chip given how well they executed their game plans, but just still very disappointed that we lost with what I think is the better team. This was the versatile roster to do it with. -
