I don't know, years 1 & 2 of Sark it seemed we no longer had the "soft" label. Imho, and I'm not looking at the defense, we've become soft again.

Starting a new thread because I think this combines a lot of the subjects we are all discussing or debating😉 Explain to me how our “brilliant play designer and play caller” can’t come up with an answer/counter to the 6 or 7 ghost front blitzes? He saw Texas St. have some success with it in game 1 to stop the bleeding with the game already out of hand. I couldn't believe Ohio St didn’t run it more in game 2(a gift) and UTSA stifled us with it when they were already down by a few scores and nothing to lose. Followed by Tenn and their 5 sacks and numerous TFLs that almost allowed them to come back. We then had a bye week to fix it only to have both OU and FL beat us with it! This has now lead us to have a QB, OL and our entire Offense to have no confidence! An unconfident offense is depicted by numerous 3 and outs and turnovers! (I’m guessing everybody on this board believed we were going to have a 3 and out after FL’s 8 minute drive?) If I’m a DC, you typically worry that Sark would have an answer at some point and are scared to do it too much thinking they will eventually get burned by it. Sark has shown no obvious counters. Where are the audibles, fake audibles, checks to the WRs for hot routes, etc? Nothing but the same plays he continues to run. However, every game Defenses run it more and more to the point where everyone will now start the game with it and make Sark and our O prove they have a solution. Therefore, in my opinion, this rests 100% on Sark. Arch thrived in this unrelenting pressure position last year and this year they are collapsing the pocket so fast that he can’t find a hole to escape or he is watching for defenders instead of looking for receivers who are wide-open or have their backs to him. Arch is fried mentally because Sark’s stubbornness to see and change their approach when defenses line up in these ghost fronts. The OL, particularly the C, is either getting immediately getting pushed back into Arch or are reaching for defenders they can’t get to. This is not the first time defenses have run these fronts against teams. Typically, they run these looks when they need a TFL and hope they don’t get burned by it. They are supposed to be a gambling defensive call. Now they are running it all the time and especially on 3rd and short. Texas and Sark are seeing it more and more because defenses are having more and more success against us doing it. It has now snowballed to the point where we have a very unconfident and frustrated entire offense. This is a Sark creation and problem! Our QB wasn’t this bad last year, our OL is befuddled even though I really believe we are more talented and we know we have better weapons than ever. It doesn’t matter when you allowed a problem to become what is half way through a season which is destroying the team! Just my opinion😉

Great news. Unfortunately severe ankle sprains can have long timetables, so I’m not sure if we see him again this season. -
Even after watching this game back 2 times that comment sounds from a non athlete respectfully.

I understand. I agree with you. However, with the resources Texas should do the same. Any Coach at Texas with the support and resources that is provided to them from Texas should make The Playoffs in a 24 Team Playoff every year. Hey, Kelley left ND for LSU, so why shouldn’t Freeman leave ND for Texas

To do my job in terms of slowing down unrealistic expectations ... Best case is 25-7/24-8 and No. 2/3 seed Or anywhere from 25-7 to 22-10 and 2-5 seed in the big dance But very well coached team in brute of a conference! -
Idk about Freeman. He has a free ride to the CFP every season at ND guaranteed. Doubt he would give up that luxury.

Thank goodness. Looked like he got bent back on it on that play I was worried it might be a knee or broken bone. -
It’s Marcus Freeman with the 1st call and brining in Chip Kelly for OC with Muschamps as DC would be a heckuva Staff. Let’s go CDC. I’m ready!!!

i think rod is right that you at least have to open up the qb and center position for competition this week -
Yea that makes more sense.

I am referring to Banks and flood

Hearing that the initial diagnosis is an ankle sprain for Colin Simmons, but the severity is still unknown, per a source. Sark said after the game it was a lower leg injury but they were still evaluating him. Worst-case scenario averted? We'll see but an ankle sprain is certainly better than a knee injury.

Atleast one of them did. Other made a business decision and refused to jump on a lose ball with the game on the line -
