Maybe we just disagree on what constitutes being on the wrong side of the law. If this happens during a game, it’s a 15 yard personal foul penalty. But if it happens in the handshake line, it’s assault and he should be arrested?
-
Meant to post this earlier, but better late than never!
-
We’ve had commits get on the wrong side of the law. I think the difference is we accept it rather than bend over backwards demanding second chances.
-
I am aware of the situation. I just find it highly unlikely that we’d be calling for the same punishment if it was a Texas football commit.
-
Gundy’s downfall can be directly attributable to cutting his mullet, (the Samson effect). Yep.
-
Gundy was hurt by Gundy. He REFUSED the portal and NIL just like Dabo. And no, Gundy shouldn’t be anywhere near this program. His time is over and the game has passed him by.
-
That's what I'm saying.
- Today

I think the stat comparisons to CFB greats like Manziel, Colt etc are interesting and all but they don’t really mean anything about Arch’s trajectory. His numbers are also skewed by the defense giving him multiple short fields in the SJSU game.
-
Gundy is a top evaluator of talent, usually evaluates prospects and offers them before they are offered by bigger programs. Never hurts to have more top evaluators on a coaching staff that can improve anything.
-
I doubt Gundy would have any interest in analyst work. He doesn’t need money and he probably doesn’t want to travel to Austin from his home unless he moves completely. He can go take a mullet medical year or three and throw his name back into the ring at a good situation if he really wants to do football into his 60’s.
-
I think if he turns it around and we win out, he’ll easily jump back in it. He will be gifted votes simply bc of his name and if he starts playing like he did last year, they could be hard hard hard to beat.
-
OKST is one of the schools that got hurt the most by NIL. He always did so much with less
-
He better start completing 100% of his passes for a few games if he is going to get back in the Heisman race.
-
He’s done at ok st
-
Arch has 9 total TDs this season. That’s three a game. Over 12 games that’s 36 (the same number Johnny Manziel had his Heisman season). https://www.espn.com/college-football/player/_/id/4870906/arch-manning https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/johnny-manziel-1.html
-
I can’t see Gundy being anything with Texas.
-
Meh
-
If Gundy is willing to be an analyst, then yeah… Absolutely
-
I think Gundy has definitely been hurt by a lack of financial support to build his roster. He was always near the top of doing more with less, but now, if some of his players develop, they are transferring for a bigger check.
