Glad this game is going to be played on Turkey Day+1 in the evening. Friday evening game lends more of a "special" feel than when it's played on Saturday. I'm so Old School that I remember when it was always on Thanksgiving Day. I remember being at my Grandmother's house for Thanksgiving Day and all the grown-ups were gathered in the living room in the afternoon watching the Longhorns and Aggies on the Black and White television set while all of us kids were playing our version of football on the vacant lot next door. It was the 1963 season. Hook 'Em!

Isn't his High School nearby the LSU campus? IDK but I've always heard that. Seems like the pressure from Tiger fans (or the desire from recruits) to stay close to home for college is highest for recruits coming out of that particular High School. Just curious... thanks!

It's been reported elsewhere that LSU and Texas A&M have been the frontrunners in this recruitment. But I agree, until he gets to campus, not much there to get hopes up for.

Would be an early Christmas present if Texas could somehow win this recruitment. Ojo, Turntine, and this guy? This is the type of recruiting in the trenches that can win you national titles. Still seven months to go, so who knows how this all plays out in the end.

There is a tentative commitment date set for the first week of July for Brown currently.

2026 University Lab (La.) OT/DL Lamar Brown teased a trip to Austin Thursday evening on Twitter. Brown is considered a consensus five-star prospect and the No. 1 player in the state of Louisiana. I mention both lines of scrimmage above because early on in Brown's recruitment, there was a mix of both sides early on in his recruitment. I would expect him to be an offensive lineman on the interior at the next level. I spoke with Brown around this time last year where he said he would have plenty of interest in visiting the Longhorns, but did not have anything in place to make the trip a reality. Since then, Brown has not visited Texas. But, LaAllen Clark did stop by University Lab this afternoon, a part of his recruiting territory, and thus the tweet was sent by Brown. Quite a few players getting drafted from that class, had to start somewhere. A lot of coaching up and development.

Sounds like SEC would be smart to leverage ESPN for more to get their pay in line with BIG and their deals especially since ESPN is their only partner.

That's a tough call, but as much as Sark loves college football I can see him staying until he retires. Texas will keep his pocket book full.
