This is from an article Ross Dellenger wrote about this. However, as the two biggest revenue generators, the SEC and Big Ten would need to participate in the pooling of rights for projected media values to “work,” Cruz acknowledges. The other conferences must “negotiate” with the two conferences in striking “an agreement that would be attractive to them” to garner their inclusion. This makes it sound voluntary. -

Texas would agree with you, at least on the part about sharing revenue. -

Apparently only need 75% of teams to be for it even if every SEC and Big 10 school is against it.. -

Del Conte speaking on marquee out of conference games and the inconsistency between the committee rewarding and detracting as a result of playing those games when it comes to the CFP picture. "Two years ago we played Michigan and at Alabama and those two games helped get us into the Playoff if you recall. It was the strength of your schedule and your non-conference. Those games mattered. When we left for the SEC, from the Big 12 to the SEC, one of those discussions was keeping those games on – one we had already played and had a return game to play. I firmly believe that college football loves the big games. Our kids want to play those big games, but they also want to be rewarded for those games if you play in those games. At the end of the day, part of what those metrics are – is a 9–3, or 10–2 schedule and say these guys won ten games, but they lost to these two teams, better than a team that lost three games and had a challenging schedule with who they played. I need more clarity on that." -

That freshman class is going to have a lot of opportunity this year. Which should in turn be beneficial in years 2, 3 and 4 – granted they make it that far in today's age.

Fortunately this makes pooling of rights optional so Cody can suck it. -
I forgot to add……..some of them are going to leave because they aren’t getting paid what they think they’re worth. There is only so much money to go around.

Thanks for having Brad Shearer on Coffee and Football. Enjoyed hearing his stories about the old days. They were certainly different times.

I don’t know that there is anything to be learned. It’s just the way it is now. Some of this great incoming freshman class will leave. Every single one of them thinks they are a day one starter and all of them aren’t going to be. What Arch Manning did in football by waiting for his time is very very rare in college sports nowadays. Everyone aren’t going to get the minutes they want. Some aren’t going to like how hard Vic coaches them. You look at the top 5-6 teams in WBB each year, their coaches are hardasses too. I just don’t think you can coach soft and win in any sport anymore.

if it's actual law, then it would be harder to get injunctions and they would have to essentially go all the way to to the supreme court to fight it. -

Sounds good to me. I'm sure the devil is in the details about how this would be implemented by the NCAA and/or the courts.
