  1. Past hour
  2. It's the aggies...no matter how good they are, they will Aggy it up against us. They literally got a NC winning coach and couldn't do anything with him. Had the best recruiting class ever, couldn't' do anything with it.
  3. Need experience IOL, doubt Texas purses.
  4. Exactly. As long as Reed is there we're good. Remember that this was our down year while it was their best year in more than a decade. A lot of guys that made that team what it is are leaving. Same thing with OU. Maybe Mateer is actually injured but I'll take a guess and say that that "Gamer" s#*t doesn't work in the SEC, unless you're a Caleb Williams type of guy which Mateer will never be, not even in a million years.
  5. ND will be in the CFP. travesty.
  6. Same. Though, as long as they have Marcell "One Read" Reed running the offense I feel fine. Plus, the losses they will have on the OL as well as losing Concepcion and possibly Craver SHOULD negate any advantage getting a better OC would have. We DEFINITELY need to out recruit TAMU on the OL in the portal. It will be a major failure if TAMU is better than us on the LOS on either side next year.
  7. At this point it just feels like our situation with georgia and Kirby. Sark just has elko’s defenses and his teams figured out.
  8. Do you think concessions don't NET Texas money every time they have an event? I think you think Texas gets more money from participating in the Citrus Bowl than they actually do. That is not the benefit. The benefit is the extra practice and playing time for backups, which this scenario could also achieve.
  9. The payout for the Citrus Bowl is on the order of $8 to $10 million, which is split 16 ways between conferences. I would be shocked if the Texas couldn't come out with better profit from this.
  10. Concessions, logistics, staffing, who is gonna broadcast it? You are thinking WAY too small
  11. For an average ticket price of $200 for a low estimate of 80,000 people, that is $16 million before sales of anything else. Texas couldn't put on a football game (a la enhanced spring game, which they used to do for free) for $16 million?
  12. These are the clowns in charge Current Athletic Directors Troy Dannen: University of Nebraska (Athletic Director) Mark Harlan: University of Utah (Athletic Director) Chris Massaro: Middle Tennessee State University (Athletic Director) David Sayler: Miami University (Ohio) (Athletic Director) Carla Williams: University of Virginia (Athletic Director) Hunter Yurachek: University of Arkansas (Athletic Director & Chair) Business/Consulting Wesley Walls: Collett (Real Estate Development Firm) – Walls is a founding partner at Collett. 13. Are we going to talk about how going to 16 teams and this whole conversation doesn't matter too? Everyone get your bingo cards out.
  14. I believe Klein getting the Kansas st job is possibly a bad thing for Texas, Pete K's defense has matched up very well against his offenses clear back to Kansas st. Anyway Elko may make a poo hire, we will see.
  15. Florida loss!
  16. Hell, fans of most teams in Texas not located in Lubbock or College Station would probably rather go to a game in Austin than wherever their teams are going bowling (if they're going bowling at all).
  17. Saina piques my curiosity. I have never seen him play. Have any of you?
  18. You'd think so but that would require the people involved and Penn State fans to be logical or reasonable, and we know that's not happening.
  19. Love to see it. It's cold up there in Ohio and Michigan. The Buckeyes and Wolverines need some heat in their lives.
  20. I would rather see Texas play a team like Texas State, Houston, TCU literally any Texas team in Austin than see Texas play an exhibition vs a mediocre team in a bowl game. If it's about getting backups reps, it would scratch that itch. It could be a celebration of the season at home and would cater to many more fans than the bowl game. Probably more revenue for Texas. Fans could make it a point to show up to the game out of financial support of the team (like the first game of the season against a nobody, which are actually some of my favorites to go to). And the added benefit relative to the first game of the season is it wouldn't be hot as hell. Could keep the party going on all day in Austin. Screw exhibition bowls against mediocre teams.
  21. Will be interesting to see how he handles the criticism and expectations. He came across as extremely thin skinned at Iowa St. Remember when he went after the fans who yelled something at him when he was upset by an inferior non-conference opponent a few years ago. Not sure if the 5 star culture speaches will work the same at a place like PSU.
  22. Michigan State received a $401M donation today from big booster Greg Willams and family. Around $290M of that will be directed towards the athletics. Good time to be Pat Fitzgerald as he enters 2026 as the Spartans next head coach.
  23. Everyone’s acting like the new 105-scholarship rule means Texas can suddenly bankroll a small army. Reality check: you can roster 105 guys, but you can’t pay 105 guys. Revenue sharing = a soft salary cap. NIL = still the hunger games. So what actually happens? Texas funds the top half of the roster, stashes projects in the bottom half, and the portal becomes a revolving door for anyone who realizes they’re in the “thanks for being here” tier. The new rule doesn’t create 20 more paid contributors — it just gives Texas 20 more lottery tickets. And Texas loves lottery tickets. Hook ’em.
  24. They probably take a few above the 85 limit that they want to hang onto or want to bring in, or have to, as you well noted, increase the number of women’s sports on campus. I mean. How many soccer teams can you field? Full contact Quidditch?
