Would there be penalties from the Big 4 if one of their institutions chose not to play the NIL game, and basically have a roster full of D 2 guys. They’re cool with going 0 - 12, and collecting 30 - 50 million in television revenue?

Check out Pop's own words at the 4:10 mark. Tim Duncan was the amazing player and person responsible for the success of the Spurs. Pop was along for the ride as any number of good coaches would have been. https://youtu.be/xaooJTd9K00?feature=shared -

It’s well, well over $20mm. Period. That’s not debatable. Someone may be feeding him a line of bs.

Would love a Texas media history episode from @Bobby Burton breaking down all the chaos and changes from behind the scenes the past 20 years. Put it behind a paywall, I’d pay a premium to hear all about it!
-
That’s why they might go the way of Northern Iowa. It feels like they’re asking the state of Iowa to fund the NIL instead of the university.
-
Do they have to pay players though? The can just suck and count their money, or am I off base with this one.

Iowa State AD on NIL Impact

It's a shame, but that's where the sport is headed. With all the Legal uncertainty who knows where we will land, but the sport will be structurally very different from its roots. -
It’s a problem for many. But that’s why there’s FCS, D2 and D3. One of my sons played at a D3 school and had a blast. I don’t think they even charged admission.
