  1. Past hour
  2. Vic is definitely “old school “ type coach he may need to adapt a little to the current basketball players. As Nick Saban said “adapt or die”
  3. No Wilt ? and Magic couldn't play great defense which knocks him out of top 5.
  4. I’m a little hesitant on listing the QB room as “Fantastic.” Arch was way too inconsistent last year…though how much of that was because of the O-Line struggles? Probably a lot. Just looking at the 2nd half of the season, we had three games of solid offensive production over 4 quarters (Vandy, Arky, Michigan) and four games with serious sputters (Kentucky, MSST, Georgia, A&M). Just watch the first half of the A&M game - especially the last possession before halftime. Add to that he’s missed out of workouts for much of spring + new target in Cam + #2 and #3 receiver being out for spring as well…I’m a little worried that our offense might not be firing on all cylinders right out of the gate. I can see a world where Arch dominates CFB next year, but for me, I think it will take us longer to get to that point than what you’d assume by looking at the roster on paper.
  5. While our schedule may be ranked as the toughest, it is manageable for a talented and determined Texas. I will break it down in 3 parts and compare it to last season. Like last year, we have 3 non-cons we should beat. At TN instead of a easier 4th non-con makes the beginning tougher but we get OHST at home which helps to offset that added SEC game. Believe we go 3-1 like last year or better. We play 5 of the same SEC teams with our 3 rivals, FL and MSST but Florida and MSST are at home instead of on the road. Believe we can go 4-1 like last year or better. For 3 SEC games, we swap at KY, at GA and Vandy for and at MO, at LSU and Ole Miss. No Georgia, that seems advantageous. Believe we can go 3-1 like last year or better. Fingers crossed, it starts with Texas staying healthy and going 4-0 to start the year. That would be a tremendous start and indicate we are capable and maybe likely to be 10-2 or better. No doubt a 10-2 Texas would be in the CFP.
  6. Any team with VY on it, no brainer
  7. I have a friend who coaches tennis, he says he always asks new students - do you want to learn to win or do you want to have fun and look cool? Because those are two different things, I can teach you to win, but it will be boring and repetitious because you have to master the basics and execution, but you'll win a lot. I can teach you how to hit a down the line winner past your opponent, but you will most likely error more than you hit winners and lose. You have to decide what you want.
  8. This is an important part of the equation that is true for both WBB as well as football and any other sport; each of the programs operates under a budget. I believe Vic's responsibility is also to sustain a highly competitive team year in and year out and in today's world that includes managing the NIL appropriately.
  9. Not portal related but this would've been a heckuva an addition to the class:
  10. Freshmen, besides maybe Wells, are really struggling. And, Reese is slumping. Mike White really needs to think about his portal philosophy and bring in talent next year. Every team uses the portal to improve, besides Texas, and they’re passing Texas. Mike White can’t keep relying on High School recruiting and development.
  11. Does honorable mention count?
  12. Absolutely. People say why didn’t Vic pull her. She is too good to pull. You hope she gets hot and comes out of it. Can you imagine Vic sitting her down and losing the game by 2 and the backlash he would have received?
  13. Team is in terrible batting slump!
  14. Agree. If Madi could’ve just had a mediocre night instead of a horrendous night I think we’d of beat UCLA.
  15. I watched every game. Our best player had the worst game of her career. Vic couldn’t do anything about that. We can go back to Karen Aston if you want too. But I bet then we wouldn’t win enough.
  16. Today
  17. QB – Hopeful RB – Great WR – Elite TE – Great OL – Good DL – Great EDGE – Elite LB – Great CB – Elite S – Good
  18. Guess you didn’t watch the S Car vs UCLA game?
  19. I'm not saying get rid of Vic. I'm suggesting that he should adjust. Two Final Fours are great. That semi-final against UCLA was one of the worst games I've ever seen.
  20. Then don’t come here. Do your research. Go where there is a softer coach and lose 15 games per year and not make the tournament.
  21. Not surprised as Texas already has two 5-star PFs signed in this class with Bri Crittendon and Isi Etute.
  22. Vic isn’t going to soften up. What he’s been doing has been really successful. We can go back to a softer coach and lose about 15 games per year. I don’t think anyone on here would want that. Everyone doesn’t adjust well to hard coaching. All the top coaches in WBB coach hard so these players need to give it alot of thought before they decide to go somewhere. I personally don’t care about turnover. I like going to the Elite Eight/ Final Four every year. Some of these recruits coming in won’t be here in a year. It’s just reality.
  23. Coach loves his players but he prefers dogs. You can't play uninspired with how he coaches. Look at his track record. He doesn't owe anyone an apology. Would Kobe Bryant expect less? No way. He had 10 year olds learning the triangle for God's sake.
  24. Of course we understand that. It doesn't matter if it's only a topic for WCBB. That's the reality.
  25. South Carolina is going to be tough as nails annually. Signing Olivia Edwards was quite a coup. But there are plenty of talented players out there and we will get more than our share!
  26. You realize most coaches in WBB are tough, right? Mulkey, Geno, Staley, Lawson. Look at the men’s side. This is only a topic because it’s WBB.
  27. So uh, what are we doing here?
