He sounds pissed enough last few days. also Sark needs to politic for the team to go to the cfp to keep the team’s trust in him. If he says they don’t deserve to go, then likely there’d be some fallout with the players. It’s like an old boss of mine always said to us - “I’ll always have your back if you keep me in the loop. Even if you screw up.”

A good rule in life is to never follow the GOAT. Besides not starting land wars in SE Asia, another good rule in life is to not follow the lame duck who followed the GOAT. I use lame duck advisedly as DeBoer is a very good coach, but he will be run out of Tuscaloosa for not winning 7 national titles sooner than later imoho. Also, PSU is desperate for actual offensive football after watching their teams struggle with the forward pass for a decade. They might throw the kitchen sink at KD, and he might be wise to accept it. His leash will be longer.

It’s still a great job and I’d be more than happy to leave Mississippi for Baton Rouge. I think most coaches see what that program has done this century, saw what a bad fit Brian Kelly was, and feel they too can lead them to glory. And keeping that talent home with no in state competition is a huge advantage few schools can offer.

On Alabama, this is the same program that may lose a coach to Penn State - yes, a traditional power but one that has not beaten anyone for a period of several years.

Seems the same that if the committee is going to say they are not going to penalize for playing a conference title game, then a non conference game with a top 10 team should also not count as detrimental.

I’ve never understood why folks resent Riley for leaving OU. He’s a Texan that wasn’t comfortable at OU, he set their program back years, seems like a good dude.

Texas 1) We have to be ranked over Utah, Vandy and OU on Tuesday night for this to work. 2) Bama gets destroyed in SECCG game committee picks 9-3 Texas over 10-3 Bama 3) BYU 11-2 big loss to Tech - OUT 4) Utah, OU and Vandy get shafted.

How is Tech ranked ahead of Ole Miss and ATM? What a joke. BYU at 11. The addition of Texas and OU to the SEC made this conference insanely strong. If we just want to put in the best teams in the nation to fight it out, the SEC has a really strong case for 7 teams! If my team was usually in the bottom half of the SEC rankings, I would not be happy.

So you're basically looking at 2, maybe 3, maybe 4 spots between: Miami 10-2 Notre Dame 10-2 BYU 11-1 OU 10-2 Alabama 10-3 (if losing to Georgia, if not they're both in) Utah 10-2 Vandy 10-2 Texas 9-3
