I think Flood has always been a good developer. Some of his recruiting issues were masked at Alabama with Saban. I wouldn’t mind a staff member whose focus is helping Flood and is an elite recruiter.

Not sure if this is serious or a typo but there is literally no way a high school athlete would be signed to a lifetime deal with NIKE c'mon now. He has an NIL deal with Nike as does a few other college athletes including Cam Coleman, but it's not for life lol.

I don't fully agree with the statement that the OL improved as the year went on. They improved marginally. What really improved is the scheme and Arch. As for last year I think the OL was overrated because of the competition we played. Can Flood coach the hell out of tackles? Hell yes. I have zero doubts in him having the RT and obviously the LT spots figured out. My concerns remain at the guard spots. I'll trust the staff, but I would have question if the only two guys we bring in are the Sikorski kid and the Bennett kid.

I know that last year we didn't improve our O'line from the portal and it hurt us. So far we haven't really improved our O'line from the portal. We need to get that done.

I understand what you’re saying. It was a down year for the OL last year after being one of the best lines in the nation the year before and a finalist for the Joe Moore award. The line got better as the year progressed. I think the biggest thing coloring everyone’s perception of Flood is several high profile misses in recruiting. My point in my previous post was that if you want a high level starter in the portal they just aren’t there currently. That’s not to say someone new can’t enter. Honestly what I really need is Texas to do some high level tampering and get someone new to jump in 🤣

As of last night’s livestream, he hasn’t signed anything. That does not mean that a deal isn’t in place, though. The OTF crew expects him to return in 2026. He was a HUGE factor in the Coleman recruitment, so what does that say about his loyalty?

He apparently was their worst o-lineman on a meh line according to some Ohio state fans. May be looking for a guaranteed starting role or a lot more money than he’s worth. I’d bring him in to compete if both of the above aren’t true though

In the scenario where he enters the portal I don't see him coming to Texas unless we lose Wingo.

Also conveniently forgetting that Cam getting "shut down" was mainly due to his QB not being able to hit the broad side of a barn, kind of like the QBs they currently have on their roster returning for next year. Maybe Cam wanted to go somewhere he didn't have to go through that again.

I agree that he isn’t leaving. I also know Moore wouldn’t go to go a place that doesn’t feature him as WR1 and in 2026, that won’t be the case at Texas.

1. That’s literally in his backyard. 2. Texas just spent a hefty penny on Coleman and still has yet to pay Wingo. 3. SMU has the NIL backing to pay whatever he wants. I’m not sure Texas can or will pay to do the same right now.

No offense to Flood and the staff but that's not my problem... they recruited the guys they recruited... they decided to go after those Michigan OLs and it backfired... it's on them if the OL continues to be a problem. I have faith in Texas, they've done nothing but proving that they deserve faith. Still, I would have big question marks IF the only guy after the Oregon St kid that we get at OL is the Tackle from Yale. I would reserve my judgement... but I would have question marks going into next season.
