  1. Past hour
  2. It works in high school football, and lower levels of college . If the damn committee is going to ignore strength of schedule, then I am for it. 16 would be better but all conferences outside of SEC want 24. I am more concerned about the clown show in DC being involved in making laws to control college sports. Everything they do is a cluster F.
  3. I see a real danger in 1st round picks sitting out some of these games, like they do in bowl games now. Unless the players get additional money/ insurance---lot to ask them to play almost 19 games
  4. Good stuff. Come see us in the food court. Also the there are a few stands in there that still have the cold ones at a decent price.
  5. smart move on SEC to lock in 9 games…locks in $$$$ All other conferences get hurt … sEC becomes stronger…, via tv $$$ sec games are most viewed
  6. I guess you better adjust your corn dawg order upwards, G-man.
  7. I partially disagree with this. Playing big games can boost your rankings giving you two home playoff games which would be an advantage for the team and great for fans. The Clemson playoff game a couple of years ago was a pleasant surprise. Of course, this all depends on what they do with SoS. If teams that play the ooc games we all want to see continue to be punished, then the 24 team format is just as stupid as the current setup.
  8. Today
  9. Yes, you'll get more of the big Non-conference Games but the results won't matter anymore. What makes the Ohio St wins this year & '05 so special is what they meant for Texas' post-season prospects. Now it'll just be more like a cbb Non-conference big game where the result doesn't really hold a ton of significance. That gets away from what what's made cfb special and that's coming from someone who also loves cbb.
  10. It's hard to flip a player when mama has already picked out the new house.
  11. It's always about the money. Imagine how these blowhards feel knowing that players get paid. For years they ate like King Henry VIII, while the peasants (players) did all the work. Now that their profits have been scattered throughout the wind, they need creative ways to get more. Bingo. 24 team playoff!
  12. Agreed. And … if a few guys flip, it will be to the teams they already had in serious contention a higher % of the time. Those agent relationships with the schools that finished 2 or 3 in those recruitments were already way down the path as well.
  13. I wanted 16… but it’s going to be 24 Im different… I love it. The viewership of CFB will continue to ascend. This has been proven out with the NCAA Tournament. Football will be no different. The blue bloods won’t like it, as it will take away inherent advantage. But it is what it is. More fan bases will be engaged throughout. You will continue to get the Ohio State and ND games in the non-conference… which is how it should be. Some fans may say the regular season doesn’t matter as much now… I will push back on that. Top seeded teams will get two home games in playoffs, more than likely. That is huge for fans bases, and universities
  14. Gonna have 7-5 teams claiming they deserve a shot. It’s ridiculous
  15. This will have an effect on recruiting as well. Can't really sell making the playoffs if most of your recruiting competition is also making it every year
  16. Don’t do it
  17. That would just turn me off CFB at that point. But I'm just one guy. But I don't get a share of the pie, so my opinion matters zero.
  18. More money, more money. Regular season play determines seeding and possibly of 2 additional home games.
  19. I'd much rather have this staff than anything Herman. But I think all 3 of the good RB's Sark had were Herman recruits? Unless I'm mistaken. Seems like Herman could identify talent he was just next to useless in developing it or utilizing it lol. Although his OL recruitment left a lot to be desired, while I have my gripes about Flood he's a definite upgrade over Hand. I think Herman's last class had one OL and that was Hayden Connor?
  20. I think you should still develop QB's. In another comment I made, you should develop the premium positions, T's, DT's, Edges and QB's. Those positions cost a damn fortune in the portal. So if you can develop your own, great. But I get your point there. I think Mosley is a good at all but master of none. Not elite in any category but is a good player to have. Although I think his brother at USC is more dynamic.
  21. Meanwhile our best recent RBs were brought in under Drayton. But this staff for the most part seems like they know their stuff and are upgrades to the original staff.
  22. Elite evals and development, huh?
  23. Those same people claimed Riley doesn’t develop QBs because portal QBs don’t count as development, haha. I actually agree. I think the same could be said with QBs too. Go get the best available, ones that are proven and experienced. Mosley is solid but not elite in any category like the other portal WRs Sark has brought in.
  24. The Dallas Wings have their hands full…
  25. That is a mess.
  26. Yeah, I agree. I know people say "well you developed the guys from the portal" eh, I guess. But most of them were already good. But to my other point that using the portal for WR's seems like the better option. Get some cheaper, developmental 3 star guys at WR in the HS ranks and get your big name guys in the portal. I think they made the mistake of putting too much money into WR retention last year and the HS ranks with Ffrench (now at Michigan), Lockett, McHutechon and Livingstone and Moore who both portaled out. I did like the Mosley addition though, was a shame he was injured most of last year though.
  27. WE have put a few WR in league last couple years. Drafted high too.
