  2. Subtracting the F-bombs, this is what I've read the conversation went like. Kobe: You know I'm the best player in the world, right? Iverson: You ain't even the best player on your team. Kobe: I'm kicking your a--. Iverson: You can't stop me. Kobe: I'm stopping you and winning the game. Iverson: I'm the damn MVP. Kobe: I'm about to win my second title. Iverson: It ain't you. Kobe: It's all me. You wanna ball after we finish here? Refs step in. Tell them to shut up. Iverson says Kobe started it. Kobe: Of course I started it. You gonna man up after the game or talk to the refs?
  3. Rumor circulating around recruiting circles that OU has instructed Nagy to remove the currency from the Schooner and replace it with NIL IOUs. That should work, right?!
  4. For my benefit as an Old Guy... assume that means it's likely that Tua gets his bell rung.
  5. Wow! People ask about "Culture" on a college football team. This is just one part of team culture. Hard work and dedication are noted and rewarded. From the 5-star players to the walk-ons...all for the Team. This makes my old alum self proud. Hook 'Em!
  6. This probably isn’t what you want to hear on a football message board, but post-MBA to IB will be a tough route to buyside. You won’t have the buyside experience to fill a VP role in PE, and you’re likely too experienced to start as an Associate (which is usually a 2/3 year role that ends in an MBA). Your best bet is probably energy - some of the energy PE groups can be a little less “traditional” than non-energy. There are still terrific career opportunities available, but the “fairway” buyside gigs will be tough. You could also consider some of the less traditional type shops like family offices, independent sponsors launching, etc. Maybe head of corp dev at a PE backed portco that is a serial acquirer? The few folks I know that did IB post-MBA are all either still bankers or in a corp finance role (eg, CFO). Just my two cents. What did you do pre-MBA?
  7. Thank you for the reply. I have an accounting background and hope to leverage those skills plus what I learn in my MBA. I will network as much as possible and will work tirelessly at any summer associate internship I get. My buddy on the alumni board for WSFM is also going to help me out. My fiancé and I, prefer NY than Houston. However, I’d take the best opportunity I receive and run with it.
  8. Today
  9. How we Arch and Ant Hill to talk to Downs and JJ during the OSU game.
  10. At UT you need to work extremely hard to get excellent grades. Get a banking internship. While there, work your ass off to do great work. Build as many deep relationships as you can. A lot of people neglect the relationships portion….relationships alone aren’t enough, but excellent work plus relationships is the way.
  11. I am about to start my MBA and have been doing some IB technical prep to help me get ahead of the process. I know UT sends a lot of kids to Houston for Energy IB and some to NY. Any alumni have any insights on their experience, exit opportunities, and/or advice/recommendations? My ultimate goal is to work 2/3 years in IB and head towards buy side. Looking forward to the process. Hookem
  12. why would a nice GA boy want to dead-end his football career by attending/playing at College Station Community College football? https://www.espn.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/45893737/jayce-johnson-no-3-qb-27-recruiting-class-picks-texas-am

  13. I love watching these "you're on scholarship" videos. Inspiring!
  14. My favorite UT No. 25 is Chris Gilbert. We were in the same class at Texas. His 96 yd TD run vs TCU was a dazzling play. He was the first CFB RB to have three consecutive 1,000 yard running seasons.

  15. Sans Antonio
  16. I'll aways rock with 3 / 14. Future is bright
  17. I thought 2026 was going to be the BIG year, but this 2025 season may be a real cracker jack one. I am very excited to start the season and watch this unique team.

  18. These videos and stories are what makes CFB the best sport in the world! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
  19. I love that we still help out the walk-ons! Glad Sark is keeping that up, happy for the kid! #HookEm 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
  20. There has been a new scholarship extended inside the Texas Football program and it goes to LB Marshall Landwehr! Landwehr, a senior out of Highland Park High School, becomes the 85th scholarship on the Texas roster by my count.
  21. Apprently he’s the healthiest he’s been in a while bobby said on a OTF podcast recently so hopefully we see the best of Quinn in the NFL.
  22. Thanks to all for the advice, it's very much appreciated. One question for those who have been to the game, I found tickets in the corner of the endzone on row 2, Texas side, but I'm worried if they're that low we won't be able to see a lot of the game. Is that the case, or should I jump on them? Happy to wait, but if they're good, I might go for them. Does anyone know if Vivid Seats is ok to use?
  23. Maybe guard, center, guard should have blocked better? Quinn was classy to take the heat…especially with the RBs not picking up the blitz for 3/4 of the year. Love me some Texas high standards…. Hope Arch is perfect for 2 years lol
