They are a bunch of 23 year olds from the portal. How many stars they had 5 years ago in HS means nothing.

What they are is proof that attempting to develop young players is a fools errand in this era. Spend all of your money on experienced players in the portal. 4 and 5 star freshman are a liability more than a benefit..

Exactly

Completely agree, but his personality is kind of difficult to describe.

True, but this is what Texas will become, maybe half dozen 5-stars and ten or so 3-stars with a bunch of old dudes out of the portal. I think this year is the last freshman class of 20.

This is what everyone that wants to win will become…save a few superfreaks.  Pay for a qb, rush end, LT…portal the rest

Well Cignetti is already a legend my eyes, however, it will be even more legendary for him to put that whoopin on Miami in Miami to win the Natti. Can’t wait to watch it.

They were ahead of the game on this portal thing.. Tech also but not to that level. They struck lightning in a bottle. Think rest of college football will catch up. They better. The annual Recruiting winners are having to spend big time trying to keep their young high rated recruits not ready to play at championship level yet. That is where we are and still losing really good talent in droves. Schools will have to put less importance on high school recruiting which i thought would shrink roster taking away chance for 3 star type kids from getting college education. But hopefully  schools will take a good number with no NIL . A college scholarship is not nothing. Hook em

Highschool recruiting will always be the foundation of blueblood programs. If UGA, Texas, or Ohio State waited on five star athletes to leave their current school and still have to get them up to speed and standard all three of those coaches would be fired. When Texas and other schools start to recruit positional needs while filling holes in the roster via both portal and highschool. Indiana will have a much harder time. They'll have to bid for premium talent and portalers. What Indiana and Tech(is trying to do) isn't sustainable. When the big money schools start to money all the roster, others will be forced to pay more to get kids out of HS or pay a premium for portal talent.

Don't lie just like everyone else you placed the gun on the TV and never missed a shot. 😂 I'm also undefeated racing on the powerpad.

Does anybody find it strange that Curt Cignetti did not get a major D1 job until he was in his 60's? After 2 years at Indiana (basketball school) he is the best coach in college football. Why did nobody hire this guy sooner?  Poor guy had to go all the way back to D2 ball to get a head coaching job.

Chicago deep dish or New York? Careful your answer determines if we put you in OTF jail or let you off with a warning? FYI anything pineapple gets you life without the possibility of parole.

This NIL is going to be just like the pros soon

high school recruits will get minimum NIL like a rookie contract and the higher level recruit you are the more you’re paid (like a draft position)

then once you’re a “vet” in your college prime with experience you’ll demand more money. Just the only way this will settle likely

Everyone talks about the As 02 season in baseball, nobody talks about what followed and where they have been since. When you have a new strategy that works everyone copies it and it's not as effective going forward.

Not really.  Willie Fritz another old guy with history of success.

People are arrogant.
