Flood’s strategy of recruiting mammoths who can’t move well hasn’t really paid off. Also could speak to poor development. But either way, not one of the departing OL was in any way ready to make a contribution this year and there’s no indication that they’d be any good thereafter. Again, it’s an indictment of Flood’s evaluation and development as much as as anything. That being said, getting dudes to hit on the OL has always been a crapshoot and takes years. Agree, but maybe that is all that we could get, and something is better than nothing? Dunno..... Quote

On the flip side, none of these kids want to get developed. It's part of the instant gratification crowd. I need to start now or I'm wasting time. I have a feeling things are going to change soon with this. This current model is not sustainable. Spot on. Here's the thing - when the dust settles there will be a TON of college athletes without a 'job'. Realization will hit them like a brick wall. Some will find their way back into the folds of teams, especially if those teams are in need of players for that position that want to be coached (nod nod, wink), and others will be casualties to a system gone haywire. Also, grad transfers will be available up into the summer. This reminds me of last week, when all was a disaster, doom and gloom - then we signed Coleman, then Hollywood, and suddenly the crowd goes wild. 2 Quote
