    This is a nothing burger, IMHO. Coach probably gave him the green light, playing with their minds as far as "who's Texas gonna start at QB?"

    yes, we need more emotion from the coaches and players, and no, it won't help Arch one darn bit. He just can't operate Sark's elaborate offenses. Hell I'm not sure anyone can, especially without a Saban/Alabama type OL.

    That actually makes a lot of sense - it's the reverse of 'the run sets up the pass' theory. When the opposing D knows that the short pass scenario is non existent they can concentrate on the run.

    It's hard to coach a QB when you are the HC; Coach doesn't get that.

    I had to turn this off b/c it was literally making me ill. Arch has some college fb version of PTSD. My take on how we should proceed - internal meeting with Arch explaining this (of course he wants to play, if he was concussed we would proceed the same way) followed by him sitting out the game - or at least first half - and building the confidence of the rest of the team.

    Why, for telling the truth? He is shellshocked, and whether it's on him or on our coach's elaborate schemes doesn't matter.

    The reasons for Lacey are thus: Sark's inefficiency in play calling has caused hesitancy and confusion in his QB and also in the OL; confidence is at an all time low. Changing to Lacey forces Sark to simplify the offensive scheme, and they would function well, gaining confidence through the first half. It would spread like a virus.

    We can't underestimate CDC in this drama. We haven't heard that much from him, but I will guarantee he will make a move - or several - if this trend continues. At the end of the day, Coach is an employee. If you aren't functioning at a high level, if you aren't doing your job and are relying on subpar fellow employees, the days are numbered. Here's hoping he will pull his head out and lead us to victory. HookEm.

    Great read Jeff. I understand (I guess) Sark's desire to run a dynamic West Coast offense, with lots of moving parts; personally I don't think our squad can do this consistently. Very few can. Let's make it more basic. Our players have more talent, so let's out-hustle them. The players will perform better if the offense is not like a calculus final.

    Nice read, @Jeff Howe. Do you see us historically making needed changes when our run game is anemic? Seems as though we did so at the latter part of last season.

    It's surprising how negative this fanbase can get when things go sideways. I for one will continue to have faith that we will get the job done - meaning coaches AND players. Life's so much easier when you are positive. HookEm.

    I don't mean this in a bad way, Gerry - he's a good coach - but he comes off as kind of a meathead.

    Great read Jeff. One thing that I have noticed about Coach, Jeff, is his inflexible approach to his talent on campus. What I mean is this: if you know that the players consistently under-perform in a certain offensive set or with a certain play - shy away from that. Look at stats and coach to win games, not to see if they can all run the plays without mistakes. 10 personnel yielded some great yardage, infuse play calls with more of this. Give the players confidence to produce then try the things they are poor at. Just my humble opinion.
