Rocky P Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago you are welcome for breaking the news to you 😄 Is this the international player that yall have been speaking about that would make any team a Final 4 contender? @Gerry Hamilton Quote

That's a 6-5/6-6 PG that will be an NBA draft pick in two years. Quote

THookem Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Is Texas still a possible option for that nba draft pick in two years? Quote

harveycmd Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I really can't believe Miller's answer to Gerry's question about point guards. I have no faith we'll ever win anything with a goober like that as head coach. 1 1 Quote
harveycmd Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I can't believe that a former PG said that crap. We've got no shot with that stuff. 1 Quote
harveycmd Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago If you don't have the best post, or the best SG guard ever like Mikey or Kobe, you can't win without a real PG. I don't understand what Miller is talking about. He lost me. I'm not coming back until the chump wins a title. Quote
harveycmd Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It's really crazy that Miller said that crap. If you have Parrish, McHale and Bird in the frontcourt, you can win. But you can't beat a great PG like Magic if he has two frontcourt guys. Texas never gonna have Parrish, McHale and Bird in the frontcourt. That's really the dumbest thing I've ever heard from a college basketball coach. You don't need a PG to win? Is he smoking dope? Quote

He referenced Florida last year. Clayton was a good point guard. He had the best front court as well. I don't understand what he's talking about. Quote

harveycmd Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Kobe better than Bird. I don't know what this means. We talking 5 to 3. My point is that Miller told Gerry you can win with a "combo" point guard. You can't unless you have the best frontcourt. Even that won't matter if the other team has great backcourt players. My example is the mid 80s Celtics had the best frontcourt ever, but they couldn't beat the best point guard ever in Magic. Not to mention that Kobe as a shooting guard was more important than the most athletically gifted player ever as Shaq. Jerry West told Shaq that Kobe was already better than him when Kobe was 17 in July 1996. Edited 1 hour ago by harveycmd Quote

Florida won the NC with two combo guards last year UConn won the first NC with two combo guards It's because of the systems run now a days. I asked the question because there are very few true PG's these days. What Jason "White Chocolate" Williams said recently is spot on for me. Going to watch a lot of AAU hoops, HS hoops and individual workouts ... PG's are doing drill and skill training more than anything now. Their creativity is being put on the sidelines because the game now is so much about spacing, catch and shoot three's, movement through sets and actions. 2 Quote

Luka is not a pass first pg. He is one of the top scorers in the nba. Again, you bring up Magic proving my point. Pass first guards arent a thing anymore. Go look at the stats. Top 10 assist pg in nba are top scorers. Top assist pg player in ncaa Fears jr for michigan st..also their scorer. 1 Quote
