ATX16 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago What's the purpose? Non basketball viewers tuning in to see the court? For the fans in attendance? I don't get why this court is needed by a premier conference tournament, the games stand on their own. I remember playing on dusty gym floors and it would completely negate the advantage of quickness and sharp cutting. I watched two different games yesterday on that glass court and the loss of traction on almost every possession was real. It's amazing the B12 rolled that out, especially for this event. Fran Frashilla and his sidekick made or were forced to make it a non-issue. My guess is the coaches/AD's made it a huge issue behind the scenes and got the change. 1 Quote
MJW2327 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago They’re already back tracking and going to replace it now with actual hardwood, what a concept. You’re right - classic Yormark gimmicky pro wrestling trash concept, we couldn’t have gotten out of that sophomoric conference fast enough 3 Quote

What an idiotic move by Yormark. I guess a leopard cant change its spots. 1 Quote
Alex Butler Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If the little 12 wants a new commissioner with a ton of experience and focus on safety and no prior experience I’m Yormark’s replacement. I’m sure the idea was “it’ll look cool and we’ll be able to sell ads ON the court during game time!! Plus, we can put graphics and other trash to distract fans from actually watching and enjoying the game. Oh yeah it may be a huge issue for the players, but they’ll adjust.” Quote
AZ Longhorn Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I don't think the issue is the idea itself. All else being equal, the LED floor is awesome. But he knew in advance its actual execution would meaningfully jeopardize player safety and competition quality (ability to trust jumps and cuts, etc) and he knowingly chose the cool idea over player safety and competition quality. That's a fireable offense, IMO. Edited 1 hour ago by AZ Longhorn 1 Quote
Burnt Orange Horn Posted 12 minutes ago Posted 12 minutes ago After Bowlshitsby, all of the mediocre 12 AD still think Yormark is a certified genius. Quote
