That is kinda what I was thinking. But I don't remember what their pressing. Is it 225 lbs? Is each position benchmarked (no pun intended)?

explains why we couldn’t move people off the ball.  those aren’t strong numbers for lineman 4 years in the program

The issue with the way bench press is done for these workouts is its more of an endurance thing, and arm length plays a big factor shorter arms and proper technique means they can put up higher bench reps as well, so it's not a true test of displaying strength. Now if we knew there max in bench and squats we would have a better idea of their strength.

if your string you bench a lot,  if your string you put your hands on the defender and move them back.   long arms be damned strong is strong and burke, hutson and campbell numbers today don’t show stength.

Bench press update:

15 Ethan Burke

17 Jack Endries

20 DJ Campbell

19 Cole Hutson

15?!! I can do 15 225 reps at 185 lbs. Yikes

Or film where we often saw zero push. Here: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/what-is-the-average-bench-press-nfl-combine-draft/

Exactly! That is why we have worked more on strength this off season. Everybody knew it and finally we pivoted to work on it. Some of those reps for Ol DL LB DE TE haven't been great at all in the past. Remember Saunders doing 9. About time Sark and Company recognized we need more strength period. Maybe Kirby's jab at us not being physical , or Muschamp seeing it as well.  Hopefully better going forward.

January 2021 -Sarkisian takes over

2022 - 0 TX players drafted

2023 - 12 players drafted

2024 - 11 players drafted

2025 - 12 players drafted

We won’t have 12 this year but the number of bench press reps isn’t the reason. Don’t think Sark is too worried about bench press.
