Califashorn75 Posted yesterday at 07:21 PM Posted yesterday at 07:21 PM She is going be a huge player for us. I have sung her praises the minute I knew she committed to us. So glad she signed. She's an instant starter taking Justice Carlton's spot. 2 Quote
Supporters Hank South Posted yesterday at 07:30 PM Author Supporters Posted yesterday at 07:30 PM “We are excited and fired up to welcome Isi Etute to our women’s basketball program here at The University of Texas,” Texas head coach Vic Schaefer said. “She brings so much to the table with her competitive spirit, toughness, and physicality, and she is a high-character young woman who is truly excited to be a Longhorn. She also comes from a strong, supportive family, and that foundation shows in the way she carries herself on and off the floor. We believe she will come in and make an immediate impact on our program because of the physical presence she plays with on the floor. Her skill set allows her to score from beyond the arc, in the mid-range, and on the block. She will be a great teammate and really puts the icing on the cake for this incredible freshman class. With her addition, this group has a chance to be one of the most impactful freshman classes in the history of The University of Texas.” From Etute: “I chose Texas because I see myself competing at an elite level and I want to be challenged in a highly competitive program. Most of all I have a lot of respect for Coach Vic Schaefer and his coaching style and his emphasis on defensive intensity and toughness. I truly believe he will bring out the best in me as a player.” 12 Quote

Going to miss the game experience of all three big time! All three big time recruits. Edited yesterday at 07:54 PM by GoHorns1 Quote
Califashorn75 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I don't think so. Those three will be forgotten just as quick as a Rori Harmon drive to the basket. 1 Quote
Califashorn75 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago So far no word if Preston enters the portal. We assumed she would because she's besties with Jordan Lee. But maybe, knowing she's the starter next year, chose to stay. We need an insider on that team! Quote
HookemDTX Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago That intro sure sounded like it was written to contrast all the issues that Vic had with Carlton. 1 Quote
Califashorn75 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) She's better than Carlton who seemed disengaged a lot. I did love her game when she focused. Coach wants dogs who never slack off. Both Justice and Aaliyah just didn't have much of a floor presence. Compare their body language to Hannah Hidalgo. Huge difference. Edited 7 hours ago by Califashorn75 Quote
