HookedOnTF Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Dang, I missed the news that he was released. For Luken Baker? Stinks. Just too many strikeouts? Quote
.45s Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I saw a couple of things where he came to camp out of shape and up to about 250. His strikeout numbers were always high and not the best batting average and I am sure that all played into it. I guess not enough improvement. Quote

I saw him 3 different times when he played in AA for Amarillo after he crushed it in A and A+. He was not in the same shape he was in at Texas, but that happens to most bigger ball players as they get older. At AA, the quality of pitching - especially breaking balls and change ups- reaches a different level. He had a lot of bad Ks when I saw him play. A lot of hitters that can crush a good fastball flame out in the upper minors for the same reason. I hope he gets another shot. He was a phenomenal player for us. 1 Quote

Yeah, I watched a couple of games on the web and we even drove up to Amarillo last year to watch him. One of my favorites and I hope he gets another chance but he probably needs to get on a good work out routine too. 1 Quote
